A good time to think on why in his dream he KNEW that Charles was dead, and to try to get some ideas straight. And at least Daeron is recovering from his injuries.

KathyG · 30 March 2016 · Chapter 9: A Day at the Hospital

The Man gave them a skeptical look. “And it takes six of you to see it done?” Glorfindel leaned over so he could see the Mortal around Elladan. “They’re my security,” he answered. “Security!” a Woman exclaimed. “You expect someone to come after you with a scalpel or somethin’?” Glorfindel grinned. “Not that kind of security. They wouldn’t let me bring my teddy bear to hold while undergoing all these stupid tests so they take turns holding my hand.” He paused, flashing everyone a wicked look. “I hold them very hard.” For a moment there was dead silence all around and then one of the nurses sniggered even as she was drawing blood from another patient and the Man who’d asked the original question started laughing and some of the other Mortals began making rather rude commentary while the Elves just rolled their eyes and shook their heads. LOL! Too funny, Glorfindel. =)

UTfrog · 29 March 2016 · Chapter 9: A Day at the Hospital

Yes, Glorfindel in a hospital gown would be quite a sight to see. Interesting to learn if anything shows up from the tests.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 29 March 2016 · Chapter 9: A Day at the Hospital

Wow, what a morning *that* was! I feel so sorry for poor Glorfi, but I'm sure all of this is necessary to have an Elven baseline to work with - not to mention figuring out Glorfindel's problems. I hope this isn't necessary again anytime soon...*gives Glorfi a big hug* Atto shouldn't have been torturing him like that. Ew. :( I do hope the elven tests (in the next chapter?) will be easier for our Balrog-slayer! Tye-melin Atya, nettenyar, Kaylee

justcurious · 28 March 2016 · Chapter 8: Catching Up

Wondering if Elrohir has a chance with 'miss' Lindiriel, who is hopefully younger than him...

obsidianj · 27 March 2016 · Chapter 8: Catching Up

This chapter brought home why I was relieved to read everything before was a nightmare. Being back in the normal story time feels like coming home. It feels very comfortable. Elf summer camp, that should be fun. Also the 2 new students for next semester. Having another elf applying to elf academy as student although the web site is framed with Sindarin writings is intriguing. Is she afraid that this is all a hoax? Which it is in a sense, but not the elvish. It will be an interesting new semester. I just hope they sort out Glorfindel by then. His "fading" is troublesome.

Larner · 25 March 2016 · Chapter 7: Café Encounter

Hmm. The Enemy is hijacking the dreams, eh? And they must find out for themselves what the dreams are and mean. I hope that they can get Glorfindel to agree to all of this!

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 23 March 2016 · Chapter 8: Catching Up

Morwen Lindiriel, huh? Well, then...I wonder who her mother was? That should be an interesting tale - not to mention the international student! And 'who would want to live in Syracuse'? Is my memory faulty, or wasn't that where Atto was from, Beta Amiga nettenyar? *raises eyebrow* I think he was trying to be funny... Tye-melin, Kaylee

Sharonb · 22 March 2016 · Chapter 8: Catching Up

Well more recruits, from the Valar that is! And one of them is living near where Amroth was which is also near where Gareth and Gwyn hid the Simirial. (My spell checker want to make Amroth a mammouth!) And she is known to the Rivendell crew. More and more interesting. I do hope Gorfi agrees to the regression. We would also like to find out who is taking control from Lord Irmo. A good balance having a nice mundane chapter before we hit high speed again. (Well, I'm fairly sure we'll hit high speed again soon.)

Soledad · 22 March 2016 · Chapter 8: Catching Up

Now I understand why Glorfindel was so upset by Turgon's appearance. Vorondur is right: the Life Oath is an idiotic practice. And poor Nell, being restricted by her parents' antiquated ideas! Elf Summer Camp, eh? Daeron really has the best ideas. After all, he was the one to get them to Elf Academy to begin with! Somehow I can't really wrap my head around the idea of Lindir having a daughter, though I don't know why. Perhaps because I write him as an eternal child. In any case, more Elves in Wiseman should be interesting. Especially those who've spent their lives among Mortals. And just who might the British bloke be? Questions, questions...

Sarah · 22 March 2016 · Chapter 8: Catching Up

More Elves heading to Wiseman? Interesting :) Hope you feel better soon!

obsidianj · 19 March 2016 · Chapter 7: Café Encounter

I love Ron's notes. Especially the descriptions of his skills "jaw dropping squared". They made me laugh. The rest of the notes are a bit sobering and that the Valar don't know how to treat "fading" is troublesome. It seems the facade of the all-knowing, allmighty "overlords" cracks. Good for Ron to get annoyed at them. I think the best treatment for Glorfindel would be to see his mortal friends as soon as possible.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 16 March 2016 · Chapter 7: Café Encounter

Atya, I know Time has no meaning for you, so I trust a late review won't matter to you or the Beta Amiga nettenyar. I've just been rereading this whole chapter again and again with no way to word what I want to say. "Ron is awesome" doesn't seem to be enough. Sitting down to a meeting with THREE Valar IN A CAFE and not freaking out? Yeah, Ron is awesome. (Much more awesome than a certain OTHER Ron with which I share half my DNA and wish I did not. >_< This is why I wanted you for my real Atto, because you're awesome and he isn't. But since I couldn't have you I wish I had Vorondur.) I do hope the awesomeness of Ron can keep Glorfi from fading!!! *crosses fingers for Glorfi* Tye-melin, Kaylee

Dreamflower · 15 March 2016 · Chapter 7: Café Encounter

OK, I have to say I love that ended in banana splits! Vorondur has been given a lot to think--and worry--about. Clearly Lord Namo wants to give more of a warning than allowed. But his hints, I think, will only make sense in hindsight. Thank you again for continuing to bring this story to us.

Sunny · 15 March 2016 · Chapter 7: Café Encounter

I really, really, really like Ron! And his comments on Glorfy are a hoot! And I enjoyed the way he was butting heads with _three_ of the Valar and not giving an inch.

Lindelea · 14 March 2016 · Chapter 7: Café Encounter

Hah! For some reason, throughout the chapter, my brain kept insisting that the chapter title was "Showdown at the OK Cafe"! "Average by elvish standards" - this made me laugh. Loren is not the be-all and end-all of elvishness, as I might have thought... (and my spellchecker very seriously wanted to make him the be-all and end-all of Elvis...) I love Ron's thoughtful response to Namo's question about his hostility. Thank you for the review reply, for the explanation of fading -- and this chapter helps make it clearer. Chilling. (While inside, a little voice is wailing, "No-o-o-o-o-o! Save Glorfindel!") Calling a priest instead? Could that be a certain dream-deceased priest who tried to reassure Loren earlier? Am halfway through my second (and final) cup of coffee, and I need to get to work, but thank you for helping jumpstart my brain this morning.

harrowcat · 14 March 2016 · Chapter 7: Café Encounter

The only word I have for this chapter is 'WOW!!!' I love Ron's appraisal of Glorfindel at the beginning of his notes. And the conversation with the Valar - Well... I'm with Ron. In the event of the End of the World I want to be where Glorfindel is - even fading.

Jenniem · 13 March 2016 · Chapter 6: Counselling Session

Well, thank goodness for that. I know that Glorfindel's health and well-being are worrying, but at least he's not going through the loss of so many friends and people he loves. Thank you, all of you who are working so hard to bring us this final EA story.

Larner · 11 March 2016 · Chapter 6: Counselling Session

So, this talisman is very important, then. I'd wondered if either the Enemy or the Valar were behind what was going on so far. Now, to find out just what is important about the Talisman, and perhaps Fiondil had intended to show us what DOES lie beneath Winterdark Tarn.

obsidianj · 11 March 2016 · Chapter 6: Counselling Session

So, it was all a nightmare, or several. Edhelhond is still standing and Wiseman is still part of the story. I'm relieved. I was willing to go along with the elves moving on, but more and more things didn't add up. Let's hope that Vorondur can get Glorfindel to recall enough of the dreams to make Irmo's work worth it. But that Irmo's dreams get manipulated is troublesome. Who can twist his work? Nothing for it as to wait for the next installment. Going to the cliffhouse to join the gang. I'll bring crackers and cheese.

obsidianj · 11 March 2016 · Chapter 5: Into the Gorge

Now I definitely know something is not right. Too many dead people in this chapter. Luckily the next chapter is waiting for me.

Soledad · 8 March 2016 · Chapter 6: Counselling Session

I'm very relieved that it turned be a nightmare, even though I am very worried about Glorfi, like everyone else. To be brutally honest, I was about to wait for this week's update, in the hope that it will, indeed, be a nightmare before I would give up on the story entirely, so alienated I was. I'm really glad I didn't, now, we are back in Wiseman and we can fear for Glorfindel all together, just like in old times. I'll bring honemade cookies to the Cliff House - the spicy kind, because this was a wild tour Fiondil take us to in the recent weeks. He probably laughs his head off over our panic in the Halls of Waiting. ;)

Author's reply

Anyone who thinks that Arthur is NOT laughing his socks off at everything should know that he had a very mischievous side to him. He knew that Elf Academy 4 would probably be the last in the Elf Academy series and I think he wanted to shock his readers and send them on a wild ride. I can't tell you that there are no more shocks coming, but there might just be! Make the cookies extra spicy and I will join you with some luscious lemon squares and a bottle of Baileys. xxx Shemyaza

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 8 March 2016 · Chapter 6: Counselling Session

Ooooooh, Atto, if you weren't already dead...I love you devotedly and always shall, but you nearly gave me a heart attack! I hope Lord Namo is shouting at you right now! I mean, I figured this couldn't be real, but Glorfi? Fading? WHAT?!?!?! Gaaaaah! Someone DO SOMETHING!!! I hope whatever Lord Namo's plans are they work sooner rather than later!! Beta Amiga nettenyar, I'm glad that you keep posting, really I am. I just hope that soon, Glorfi will be healed from whatever's causing him to fade (I don't think it can be just the mugging) and that he gets his ring back which he *obviously* never got back. That will probably prove instrumental in helping him. *joins fellow Fiondilie at the Cliff House, muttering about how SoA let me read the chapter yesterday but then started being all crazy and I couldn't review* Tye-melin, Kaylee

Author's reply

He is SO laughing at you right now, you know that right? I have absolutely no doubt that Arthur pumped Namo for information and nearly drove him mad. I am certain that he heaved a huge sigh of relief when Arthur finally went into the Circles of the World. I also know that he is still around, there is no way he would wish to leave without seeing all of the gobsmacked reactions to the story. I will join you at Cliff House, but I am bringing lemon squares and some bottles of Baileys. xxx Shemyaza

Arwen75 · 8 March 2016 · Chapter 6: Counselling Session

Well I am glad to see those nightmarish scenes - were that - a nightmare. Concerned for Glorfindel but I do hope ROn can help him and stop the fading. As always I have rarely left reviews but do read regularly and am very grateful to all who have made the publishing of these unfinished tales possible.

Author's reply

We know that Arthur had a large readership and the publishing of this, his last story, was important to both his readers and those of us who knew him well. It was our way of honouring the man and his talent for storytelling. Ron is a very capable psychologist. I am sure that something will eventually help Glorfindel. xxx Shemyaza

Sunny · 7 March 2016 · Chapter 6: Counselling Session

So that whole nightmarish adventure was just that - a nightmare. And one that cme to him courtesy of the Valar. But how typical of our Balrog-Slayer that he is still giving the Valar grief, even when he is dreaming!

Author's reply

Hmmm.... not ENTIRELY courtesy of the Valar, I have to say. Someone IS interfering and it's not just our Feanturi Brothers! Glorfindel would give anyone grief! xxx Shemyaza
