Seasons of a Life  by Mysterious Jedi

Seasons of a Life
Disclaimer: I think everyone realizes I don’t own Tolkien’s stuff.
Summary: Legolas reflects on Aragorn’s life. Note that I am assuming that although elves are bound to Arda, after the end of the world they can go to the place “beyond the circles of the world” where dead men go.

Thanks to zuleika firouse for looking over this for me.

In spring, he grew strong in Rivendell,
And brought hope to those who knew him well.
His father’s soon death marred not his soul,
He was just a youth, happy and whole.
Blossoms were apparent in his life,
But the true strength came only after the strife.

When he learned his background summer came,
Warm and wistful, but not quite the same.
He helped many, but summer ran late,
As he longed for his heart’s one true mate.
Even as he finished a great quest,
His heart was never fully at rest.

His work for the world of all men free,
Helped to bring Arwen, and to his glee,
His heart’s only partner joined him there.
‘Twas not a fall, but an autumn fair.
A true king he was, not merely an heir,
His mission: to rule Gondor the fair.

Winter will come, but Hope will not depart,
Beyond this world, he will rest at heart.
For his great destiny has come true,
And in his life, he has little to rue.
After this world ends I will go,
See his blended seasons; warmth and snow.
