Summary: A lovestruck hobbit cook gets his first glimpse of Arwen Undomiel guring the 4th Age visit to Arnor (via the edges of the Shire).

Ode to a Star Queen

.

.

I swear on my best carving knife

that never before in my life

a lovelier sight I have seen

than the beauteous Elven Star Queen!

.

Now many a grand cake I’ve made

but She puts them all in the shade

no mixed berry tart can compare

to the blackcurrant hue in Her hair

.

Her fair skin, Her lips and Her eyes

more appealing than Lemon Surprise

no jam roly-poly could be

as sweet or as fragrant as She

.

My best apple crumble it seems

cannot steal Her place in my dreams

Her breathtaking smile can expunge

all delight in my famous cream sponge

.

Her form of such elegant grace

does my joy in smooth custard replace

Her laugh is a sweet concertina

Far better than my semolina

.

If I were a minstrel I’d sing

of the happy delight She can bring

compare Her to Sun and to Moon

and sweet Summer flowers in June

.

But a cook from Frogmorton am I

Using puddings is all I can try

To describe the great beauty I’ve seen

This glorious Elven Star Queen
