Dear Stories of Arda Community,

We deeply regret to inform you that Stories of Arda has recently experienced a security breach, resulting in the deletion of several stories from the site. Unfortunately, we have also encountered an issue with our backups, and at this time, it is uncertain whether the affected stories can be restored.

We extend our sincerest apologies to both authors and reviewers who have invested time, effort, and creativity into their stories and reviews. We understand that the loss of this content is deeply disheartening, and we share in your frustration. Please know that we are doing everything in our power to address the situation, plug any security gaps, and ensure the continued operation of SoA.

Rorrah is working with our host to resolve the issue and to reinforce the integrity of the site. We expect that backups will function normally moving forward. As a temporary precaution, the ability to delete stories and chapters has been suspended. While you can still create, upload, and publish stories and chapters, deletion will not be possible until further notice.

In light of this, we encourage all users to update their passwords and back up their stories and reviews to a secure location. To change your password, simply go to your user profile, click on "Reader," then "User Info," and select "Change Password."

Regarding deleted stories or reviews, some of the lost content may be archived on the Internet Archive. Please note that the most recent captures may not display functional links, but older captures tend to have more detailed content, including links to chapters and reviews.

At this time, we are aware of only a few affected stories, but we will continue to investigate and keep you informed. Once again, we are truly sorry for this incident, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges.
