A series of drabbles, double drabbles, etc. to form a complete stream-of-consciousness story as Halbarad, with the help of Elladan and Elrohir, keeps watch over an ill Aragorn. Prequel to the upcoming story, “At Hope’s Edge”. Written for the NaQuaWriMo challenge. All characters, except Halbarad's cantankerous steed Tarlanc, belong to Professor Tolkien and are only lovingly borrowed. 3rd Place, 2009 MEFA; Winner Best Hurt/Comfort Story, 2009 Golden Quill Awards.
