During the visit of Sam, Rosie, and Elanor to Gondor in 1442 S.R., a new series of memorials was unveiled in Ithilien to mark the occasion and to serve as a trail of pilgrimage for those seeking to better appreciate the travails of those who brought about the victory over Sauron. But Merry wished more--to follow Frodo's steps all the way to the Mountain itself, to where Death itself passed over Frodo and Sam. How has Mordor changed in twenty-three years, and can such a journey bring peace?
