In this pre-Quest story based on The Lord of the Rings, while trying to catch up on his weeding in the Bag End gardens, young Samwise Gamgee suffers a major medical emergency. Author’s Note: Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin are 31, 20, 18, and 9 years old (in the years of Men, 20, 13, 12, and 5½ or 6 years of age).
