Took up a frenzy of housework, though; mopping and scrubbing, pulling all the wall hangings and carpets out to air in the sun, ' 'Fall cleaning', she says. 'Tis the season for it, I s'pose, though I'd surely not want to be the rug she was beating, out there in the dooryard.”
