Théodred runs and shouts with the cook's son in the courtyard. Not for the first time, I wonder if he feels the lack of a sibling. Perhaps I should re-marry. Not only should my son have a brother or sister, but 'twould be better if I had another heir. I would like more children whom I could teach to love this country as I do. And I do miss the companionship of a wife. I do not think Elfhild would want Théodred to grow up motherless, nor me to be alone all my days. Perhaps I shall think on it. |
