When they first arrived, my sister's children would not be parted, and scarcely spoke except to the other. My son, however, was patient,taking responsibility for them without a word, gently helping them ease into this new life. Now they sit easily with Théodred, Éomer at his right hand, Éowyn on his knee, leaning against his shoulder. I have always regretted that I did not have more children, and now here these two are, as alike to Théodred as they are to each other. I regret that such sorrow brought them to me, but I am grateful to have them. |
