Oh, this was wonderful! We see Pippin's POV in the book, but how nice to see Merry's! And you do it so well! God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Thanks! I must have scoured the chapter for every bit of nuance before I dared add my own imaginings.

Oh, this one's even better than the first. Beautiful melding of canon and imagination! Wow! Bows and praises to you! Dear Pip and Merry -- Pip is growing up so fast at this point, isn't he? This line seems like the very essence of tweenish Pippinhood: ‘Who needs arms and legs?’ Pippin said whimsically. ‘Look at all we’ve accomplished just lying here!’ I can't wait for the third chapter. Happy typing! Author Reply: Thanks! I often wondered what this chapter would look like from Merry's perspective. He was my favourite hobbit, from the first time I read the book, and it seemed I always wanted to see a bit more of him. (I suppose Legolas fans feel the same about their favourite character.) I do enjoy imagining a whimsical Pippin, even when he's past his tweens.
