All for Her   by SoundofHorns 6 Review(s)

Well, you certainly weren't kidding about the steaminess, were you? I can't really explain this right now, but, given the circumstances, Eowyn should be happy it lasted as long as two minutes. Faramir will do better next time, assuming not TOO much time passes.

I loved Aragorn getting upset with Eomer because the puppy didn't work.

“Oh, what else, wise King of Rohan…tell me, have you ever even been with a woman for longer than a night?”

“Yes.” It was four nights....."

I was falling out of my seat laughing. And then this...

"I’ve never had a woman angry with me for more than a day. Éowyn didn’t count. Of course, I am better looking…and more charming."

Your Eomer is quite the ladies' man, isn't he? If you are going to write a Eomer/Lothiriel fic after this, I think I'll need stitches for when my sides burst open from laughing. :)

I, like everyone else, am still very curious why Arwen is so upset with Aragorn and hope the reason will be revealed in an update soon.

I'm glad Eowyn is giving Faramir her full support regarding Denethor, and isn't feeding him any nonsense concerning Denethor actually loving him. I mean, come on, he was absolutely rotten to Faramir! He got exactly what he deserved for it, too.

I feel for you with school. I just started back, and before my next class they want me to memorize all the keyboard shortcuts for a Macintosh. I don't even know half of them for a PC as it is. Well, good luck, and I hope you are able to update soon.

Author Reply: OH, I get that Eowyn should be happy...I have friends that talk, you know, lol. Actually, I thought Faramir did pretty good, especially considering the way she revved him up. Hehe. Anyway, Eomer is awesome, made me crack up. The four nights thing was funny.
Eowyn is great with the Denethor/Faramir thing...even if Faramir is exaggerating a little. We all do it...you know--"My parents hate me.., blah, blah" and a few tiny Good Denethor Moments in History might come in later. I don't know. I'm happily about 2/3 into the next chapter. So I'll update soon, if it keeps writing fast. :D

I am exhausted.

I have been reading this for days to catch up. It has been one really well writen emotional rollar coaster ride. I get frustrated with characters then I love them. I want Eowyn and Faramir to get it on, but the way that it is getting all drug out for them is just to delicious. You make it so thoughrally believable that they can go so far and still not do the absolute final deed. I love the friendship between Eowyn and Arwen. Prudish Mortals, that is good, I like that.

I am anctiously awaiting the update on this story. Until then I will have to keep myself occupied taking part in everyday life. Have my husband read some of this as an instructional manual. Ooops! Did I type that out loud?

Author Reply: I cant wait to update but the semester just started and so far I've already had a LUDICROUSLY GIGANTIC Western Civ. assignment. Seriously. It's the second day of class and I'm reading and quizzing and drawing a bad map. So, though I'm writing eagerly in my heart, I'm so exhausted that the next update might be a little while.
I swear, NOT A MONTH!
Thanks for reviewing as you went-made me go back and reread chapters. :D I think I'm a fan of my own story. lol.

"Well, as for the memory of Denethor, lots of Pippin is going to be in the next chapter, I mean, I've got them all reliving things for Frodo. Pippin's scene is in that, I think. Plus, I've got hobbit communications with their friends in later times--I mean, didn't we learn in the Prologue that hobbits like writing letters? I think that would extend all the way to Gondor, it would just take longer to hear back, lol. Hehe, what's Faramir's address? Prince Faramir, Steward of Gondor, Lord of Ithilien, Box 1? Ha! Besides, the last gasp of Grima rides on that."

There's a Prologue? I don't remember reading one, and I don't see one listed in the chapter titles. Is it a section inside a particular chapter?

I'm looking forward to "lots of Pippin" and memories.

Faramir doesn't need an address. Everyone knows who he is; and that big ol' house in Emyn Arnen will be easy to find. I'm sure that he'll have guards and a secretary and a seneschal of his own to deal with incoming mail...

Author Reply: Prologue of the book. Sorry.

"Sounds of clapping!" That was just great! I loved it, loved it! My goodness that bit in the hay loft...I thought they were going to make love right then and there. I was surprised when they didn't but I guess we have to wait for the wedding night? sigh...so long. However, I hope we get lots more steamy bits before then. :)

I also really enjoyed Faramir's talk with Gandalf and the subsequent results there of. Nicely done. You really did a good job of showing man struggling with what he's been told his father felt and what he believes to have been the truth. I'm so happy he told Eowyn and got that all out in the open. By the end of this chapter they seem like a much stronger couple.

I'm intrigued by what Arwen is going to do with Eowyn's hair. Perhaps a surprise for Faramir when he gets back? I'm also interested in why Arwen is angry. I've got an idea but I'm still not sure and what was Celeborn being so cryptic about. Colour me intrigued.

Finally that you for updating so quickly!

Author Reply: hehe, more steamy bits are on the way that I can't wait to write. But first Faramir must endure the eored and survive. Yeow. ;) Some intimate but not too steamy bits before that. I mean, they still have one night together. BTW, wouldn't it be bad if Eomer found that drawing? Hehe, I don't know if he will or not or maybe much later. There will be others, some more "clean" and others dirtier. :)

Yep, Eowyn's going to have a bit of a shock for Faramir when he next sees her... :D I can't wait for Faramir and Eomer's reactions. Hehe. This story makes me grin.

Celeborn was just thinking about his and Galadriel's relationship and how they will be seperated and how eventually Arwen and Aragorn will be seperated by death and that's why he said not to waste days. Because, for the first time they are numbered. Sad.

Gandalf comes in again to say goodbye. Sad again. He will try to give advice.

WEll, as far as the making love goes I will definitely say that the wedding night will be sex-free....it's your guess as to when Faramir and Eowyn do it, but I'm NOT telling. :D Hehe! LOL, every steamy part you're going to be waitin for it now.

RAKSHA THE DEMONReviewed Chapter: 58 on 8/30/2004

One of the best chapters yet. Faramir's mingled anger and horror over the revelation of the Ppyre is well described. And it's completely believable in the context of the Denethor/Faramir relationship that you've detailed, that Faramir would be relieved, even glad, that his father was dead, even while still craving Denethor's love.

The notion that the only time Denethor displayed love for Faramir was while Faramir was unconscious is sad. Faramir will live out his life knowing that the only words of love and concern his father gave him were spoken when he could not hear them.

Faramir's fears that he might not be a good father are also very credible.

Saddest of all is Faramir's memory of how he feared Denethor's likeness in Boromir's face and voice. Denethor evidently cast a huge shadow in his younger son's life, to the point where it darkened even the bright and loving relationship Faramir had with Boromir.

Interesting idea that Denethor preferred Boromir because Boromir resembled Finduilas. Not quite canonical, since Boromir and Denethor both physically resembled their father, but it makes a lot of sense. Faramir is very like his sire, the only difference being his (in the book) tendency towards compasssion...

And was it Mithrandir who taught Faramir to be compassionate, or did he just encourage the tendancy, seeing the boy's likeness to his father and maybe wanting him to have a happier life? I tend to believe that Faramir's compassion was an inborn quality, but that Mithrandir might have prevented it from being stifled or buried.

"Thirty years I’ve been all but spat upon and I would give my life to hear one real word of approval" - I would assume that Faramir refers here to his father, that he's been all but spat upon by Denethor and never heard one real word of approval from Denethor. Because Faramir HAS known the approval of others - he has been a commander of men. Not just a commander, but a beloved commander, probably far more charismatic than Denethor ever was. He had the approval and an admiration bordering on worship of most of Minas Tirith, not to mention individuals like Beregond, Pippin and Ioreth. And although the Faramir you have been writing is sadly more nervous and depressed than the one in the books, I also assume that is because he is recovering from a terrible War, the losses of his father and brother and many of his comrades and is trying to connect with the people in his very changed world, with no help from anyone other than Eowyn and Gandalf. Faramir had to have had, at some point after his mother's death, some familial support other than Boromir's, in order to grow up into the tough, resilient and extremely competent and resourceful Captain we saw in TTT and ROTK (the books). I'm thinking that his uncle Imrahil might have briefly fostered at least Faramir, possibly both boys after Finduilas died.

No one seems to have noticed or cared, other than Eowyn or Gandalf, that Faramir is alone and bereft. Much was made of Theoden's death and funeral rites, justly so. But were any words said in memory of Denethor? Did he get any kind of funeral, anyone ever try to comfort Faramir for his loss? One gets the feeling that people are just overlooking Denethor, his life, his passing; the guy's a pile of cinders in Rath Dinen, which is really odd and probably has contributed to Faramir's feeling lost and adrift - too many people are treating him as a leftover from a regime they're happy to forget.

I wish you could include a scene with Faramir and Frodo; since they will never meet again after Frodo leaves Edoras. Not to mention Pippin - they must have formed some kind of bond or friendship, since Pippin will one day name his only son after Faramir.

Author Reply: Well, I felt that Gandalf certainly did help Faramir with his compassionate feelings and I do feel they were there long before Gandalf came because those things are natural to a person and aren't easily taught, if at all.

The approval remark was directed at Denethor. Undoubtedly Boromir showered his younger brother with approval--I'm going to have some of that later in a *gasp* happy memory section with Faramir.

Well, as for the memory of Denethor, lots of Pippin is going to be in the next chapter, I mean, I've got them all reliving things for Frodo. Ha! Besides, the last gasp of Grima rides on that.

OH!!! Well, in reference to the ignoring of Denethor--frankly, and sadly, in the beginning of this story I hardly thought of it--there will be added scenes in the rewrite (my god, the REWRITE of this ages long story!...please, I will love it, lol)
And while that was bad of me, I WILL hopefully regain your goodwill with some Eomer/Faramir scenes that (once they've bonded a little) will tentatively discuss Boromir, Theodred, Denethor, Theoden...etc. I've had Eomer actually meet Boromir. He hasn't spoken about it before now because why would he? Obviously he's known and lost a brother-type figure and he would resent any discussion from a semi-disliked and feared stranger. BUT when they are friends the quick little memory will be a bonding thing. :)
So, don't hurt me for leaving out Denethor until now!!! I was young and foolish!

umm, basically, what I wanted to do with this was to heal Eowyn first because she's strong and forward enough to ram through all of that crap Denethor put in Faramir's head and help him.

I really appreciate the long chapters- makes for good, thoughtful reading.

Man, I almost screamed when Elrond interrupted- damn, I am dying to know what Aragorn did! :)

BTW, you might want to put up a warning on this chapter- it gets pretty hot at times. *I* like it, and it fits very naturally in the progression of the relationship, but others might be rather startled :)

Author Reply: Long chapters, hmm. Did you know I could have kept going and going? I actually put a stop to it for the readers' sake--you might want to get other things done today, lol. I seriously doubt the chapters will ever get shorter.

LOL! I couldn't tell you what Aragorn did yet, that would be too easy. :) Besides, Arwen will be in a more talking mood after this.
I'll wait and see about the warning, if I get anyone else who's concerned I'll definitely put one up. I mean, the story is rated R, and they're not even undressed, so I didn't think it was too bad. But, hey, anyone reading the reviews--if you want a warning on anything like the steamy scenes just yell! :) Actually that was one to hold you--Faramir's, uh, going to be absent soon.
