| Well, now, let me see...what (or should I say, who?) to talk about first? Haldir - lovely Marchwarden of the acidic tongue! lol "I do not do catering!" If I were Glorfindel, I would take that as a challenge! *vbg* "My knives are not for cutting up carrots..." . Glorfindel had the right of it to think the elf would starve if he did not attach himself to a large group! Sounds like my youngest son! :-) Loareg - still getting the best of the "brats", but I think he might actually gain a friend from this! Domeniel - prickly little thing, isn't she? She's tough, but something tells me she might find reason to sweeten up soon. I really loved Glorfindel's memories of Laerwen - that he thought there was a possibility she was the Lady, as he felt her power in the forest...and how Legolas would remember more of his Naneth, now that he didn't have to bury the pain (which he did! lovely, the dancing in the rain!), and that it was about time for Thranduil to return to that totally besotted state he'd been in before! I almost stood and cheered for the grand entrance made by Legolas and Laerwen, though! You paint some beautiful pictures indeed of the two of them, dressed in white, crowned in greenery and white flowers, bathed in night-light...really gets the oh...my...God...reflex going, ya know? This was a satisfying chapter, to say the least. I will NOT say hurry, because I know the END is near... linda Author Reply: Who would win in a Glorfindel / Haldir match? It's not quite like slapping down the brats. Although the challenge issued could prove too much! Minalcar is likely to be a pest for longer, I think. Ambantor has had more parental involvement (it's all down to parenting, really), and he and Loareg seem to have more in common. I think Domeniel feels like someone in a wet T shirt walking past a building site. All eyes are on her. Which could increase your prickliness. I think she has her eye on someone though. And has maternal approval (though possibly not paternal or fraternal). Many memories of early childhood are implanted really, and now Legolas has his naneth to 'help' him remember more - I have him about 8 HE, when she died, so there are things there. I look forward to seeing Thranduil hazy with passion and with eyes for nothing but his wife. I think Glorfindel's gathering was taken over rather - but they did look good! Yes, I am afraid the end is near. Though maybe . . . . | |

| You have some lovely images here, Bodkin. The final one with Legolas and his mother is breathtaking - they sound so very wood-elfy and ethereal. I also liked Legolas remembering how he would sit on his father's lap while he ruled - Laerwen's death brought them very close together. But my favourite part was the twins discussing the resemblance between Legolas and his mother, and teasing him about his good looks: It is not a good thing to have soldiers writing poetry about your beauty, Legolas. :) :) Jay Author Reply: Thank you. I could just see them - all silver and moonlight and shifting shadows. Thranduil and Legolas needed each other very much then - I think they still do in a way. Their loss made them closer, while Celebrian's wounding pushed the twins even closer, but maybe left Elrond out a bit. I love the twins. | |

| I liked the talk between Legolas and his mother. I had this picture of a devastated child and a suffering but loving father who needed one another. And the questions his mother asked were those a mother would worry about. Who will take care of my child if I die? The 'brats' are coming along but are not quite reformed yet, I see. The last scene was very evocative as Legolas and his mother emerge from the woods. Author Reply: Both of them devastated - and Laerwen suffering from guilt for something she couldn't help. Kids - hostages to fortune - and most of us come through, but you do worry about things. The brats are improving, but Minalcar is still rather too self-important. I think in his absence Ambantor would settle down quite quickly. Thank you. I don't know what I'll do when this is finished. It's already leaving a gap. (I was worrying about Sinnarn the other day. I hope he's got over his wounds. He wasn't looking too good last time I saw him.) | |

| LOL, so some other ellyth besides Galadriel wears white and in the forest!! Don't tell her mother, Earwen will never live that down. Maybe poor Minaclar does need to stay back in the city, if he cannot get used to the idea of what is needed to build a settlement from the ground up. And those young ones are the same no matter ... at least Ambantor realizes what is going on. Although there may be a great deal of payback between him and Loareg, but it sounds like the start of a friendship. So now we do see why Thranduil set off by himself for the settlement. I wonder if Legolas hints or not who he may find there. That will be another reunion to happily write about. If Far Horizons ends, there is definitly a sequel there. I definitly enjoyed Elladans quip about Elrond and if he had not met Galadreil until he got to Valinor. LOL, I can just see him in that boat rowing hard as can be. Author Reply: But this is a PARTY - Laerwen doesn't wear white all the time - her natural colours are those kind of foresty shades. Galadriel's allowed to wear white on special occasions - it would just be nice to see her in something less - lacy when she's walking in the woods! Minalcar just needs to learn to keep his mouth closed and apply himself - he suffers from delusions of his own importance. He will become a much nicer person if he knuckles down a bit - and Glorfindel is just the sort of elf to see to it. Ambantor seems less self-absorbed - I think he is having fun already - though he and Loareg will not avoid trouble if they keep messing around. Thranduil - wait and see! I enjoyed that comment too - Elladan and Elrohir are very flippant! | |

| I love this chapter so much I just don't even know where to begin. Horse droppings! You just get crueler and crueler and it is sooo funny. Your descriptions are great. I can just see the looks on their faces. I died laughing. But my faovrite part was anything revolving around Legolas and his mother. Just so sweet. "...I look forward to seeing Thranduil degenerate into the lovesick elf he was when they first wed." was a great line. I like to contemplate that. Poor Thranduil a happy elf. You MUST show us their reunion. Even if its just in an epilogue. Love this chapter! Author Reply: I would prefer horse dropping to gutting fish myself - at least they are only processed grass! I think Glorfindel feels the brats need a big dose of humility. I like to contemplate Thranduil reunited with his wife, too. Especially being lovesick. Reunion - maybe - or at least elsewhere if it doesn't fit in here. Thank you for enjoying! | |
