“Bored, Frodo? I suppose Sam did all your packing.” Oh, beautiful! Tolkien could have written this line himself1 I really like this. It's fun, funny, and with a serious note underneath. I love your Pippin and your Frodo! Please keep on writing! I'll have to go look around the website and see what else you've written for us. Thanks for sharing your vision. Author Reply: Wow - thank you very much! What a compliment! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks again :)

That was a very Pippin reason for asking where they were going! I loved this “We love you too much to let you face anything alone. We’ll go with you to the end, right into Mordor. You must know that, Frodo.” Perfect! Thank you for the story! Author Reply: Yes, I've always thought Pippin knew more than he let on in that scene. Thank you so much for stopping by to read and comment! :)

Ah, what a nice little ficlet. I liked Pippin's not wanting to trust the food to Strider. I sometimes think Pippin had as good, or better, understanding of Frodo than anyone else did. He knew that Frodo was likely to slip into melancholy without someone, or something, to take his mind off the situation. I really like the blending of sweetness, humor and sadness in this story. Thanks. Connie B. Author Reply: I agree with you - I do think that Pippin knew more than people gave him credit for. I think that most of his wisecracks were intended to cheer up those around him. Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you liked it! :)

Uh-huh, just as I suspected. Of course Pip knew what was up; movie-version he and Merry had been eavesdropping just like Sam! I imagine Merry was in on the act, and I doubt if Gandalf was fooled. But just think how it must have looked to the *other* members of the Fellowship. Won't take them long to catch on though, will it? Author Reply: "Of course Pip knew what was up; movie-version he and Merry had been eavesdropping just like Sam!" Exactly! He was there - he had to know what was going on just as much as anyone else at the Council. And you're right, imagine what the "strangers" like Boromir, Legolas and Gimli were thinking!

I like it! It's good to know Pippin wasn't just being clueless, though he certainly fooled everyone didn't he? And his observation that Elrond liked saying "doom" lol. Very well written. Author Reply: Right, I think Pippin knew how serious the situation was, and just wanted to break all that tension. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! :)
