| Looks like Merry is in charge of the big cover-up. I wonder how successful he'll be now that he has Pervinca to deal with in all of this and a very sick Pippin. I think the future Master of Buckland has his hands full in all of this and I am also wondering if that wizard can be trusted to keep quiet. Author Reply: I have this whacky idea that Merry gets himself and Pippin into a lot of mischief--though Pippin does quite well on his own, too. He's duped the wizard into thinking that he's the "angel" while little Pippin is getting fingers pointed at him. What will Merry do when his cover is blown? Oh, the bunnies that are hopping around here! In Seahobbit, Gandalf makes mention of meeting Pippin a few times before; in the road playing truant (Smoke) and while trying to make daisies sing (Rosie, Marigold, Daisies, and Pippin).
