Oi! Things are not progressing well at all for our lovely prince. I hope the three musketeers hurry along with their rescue. Author Reply: No, things are not progressing well at all. Rescue? Who said anything about a rescue? :o)

Freaky freaky freaky! Nice, lovely Legolas angst!! :P I hope A, E&E aren't stupid enough to get caught too. They don't, do they? Oh dear, you aren't going to answer that question, are you? The whole thing with the blood and stuff makes me feel absolutely sick. And I didn't even swallow it! I can't wait to know what it's full significance is. Hm....I'm getting a really awful thought...what if the ingestion of the blood starts to trasform Legolas into a howler? That would explain the absence of other people on the mountain, and it would explain the ability to speak Westron. Sorry, thinking out loud. :P More soon, please! Author Reply: Glad ;you like the angst. There's more in store for our dear elf. No, I'm not. Being bitten and then swallowing howler blood is not a good thing, I can tell yo that. It *is* sickening, isn't it? Interesting thoughts. Like the other, I can't reveal anything, but keep guessing. I enjoy reading other people's ideas. More will be along next week.

I have a really nasty feeling about these yucky creatures. Could they be able to help us understand what has become of all those lost on the mountain? I hope Legolas is going to be all right. He is in enough danger from his adar anyway, without creepy creatures threatening him. Author Reply: You and me both. All questions will be answered before the end of the story. Legolas is definitely in trouble no matter which way things go. If he escapes the howlers, he has to face a very worried and angry Thrnaduil. Not an easy choice. :o)

This is getting good! I can't imagine that the howlers have taken Legolas for any good reason - but to eat him? I hope not! And Elladan, Elrohir and Aragorn are rushing blindly along a treacherous cliff path in a blizzard. Which one is going to fall off? Jay Author Reply: Thank you. Legolas is definitely on the menu, so we shall see whether the howlers' dinner plans change or not. As for the answer to your last question: :o) (Not much help, am I?)

Are you suggesting that swallowing their blood made Legolas able to understand them? That would be weird. Of course, they also bit him. Hm. I'll have to think about that. Author Reply: Your idea of Legolas being able to understand the howlers because of swallowing the blood is an interesting one. I hadn't thought of that, so of course, that means that isn't the answer. The blood and the bite *are* significant, however.
