| No, he's not dead yet, you idiots!!!! :) I understand that sentiment has been expressed before. :) Poor poor baby.....but I'm no mathematics major; I hate Algebra, so I'm just going to leave those numbers alone. Hm...did *all* the howlers leave to look for Legolas? If not, E, E & A could be in trouble. But then what? So...you said Legolas would be sorry he didn't take the cloth...is that because then A and the twins wouldn't have thought he was dead? Or is the blood on the cloth contaminated by some poison in Legolas' blood? In that case, Aragorn could get really sick from pressing it against his forehead. Oh, the possibilities are endless. More soon! Author Reply: Yes. Isn't it fun when we know something the characters don't? I couldn't resist doing that. Aragorn does guilt sooo well. I know from experience how high your 'poor babies' can go. Let's just say they are out of sight. :o) You will find out what happens with AE2 and the howlers. I can say no more. That idea of contaminated blood on the piece of unic is an interesting one. I hadn't thought of that, so of course, that isn't it. It was just a means of letting AE2 think Legolas is dead. They find more 'proof' in the next chapter. | |

| YOU'RE JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS, E2A!! A bit of cloth is, at best, a piece of circumstantial evidence. Do you think they heard? I don't think even elves can afford to drop off to sleep in the snow when they are injured - don't say that looking forward to the howlers finding Legolas still alive is the best we can hope for. Author Reply: They did jump to the wrong conclusion, however it will be re-enforced shortly with another piece of circumstantial evidence. No, I don't think they did. The way I see it, there are four choices: Legolas's friends find him, the howlwers find him, he escapes or he dies. one good and three bad. (Even if he escapes,he may not survive the infection and the snow by himself.) | |

| O.O I want so much to just yell and Estel and the twins!!! HE'S NOT DEAD!!!! Ack! Again with the helplessness!!! And Legolas is still out somewhere on the freezing mountain with his friends thinking he's dead!!! Things just couldn't get any wors-wait, they probably will...can't wait for the next chapter!! | Oh dear. I realised about halfway through what the significance of that scrap of cloth must be. How horrible for Aragorn and the twins - and if they believe Legolas dead, they won't look for him anymore, will they? And he is now fast asleep, hidden from view, in the falling snow. This Does Not Look Good :( Jay Author Reply: I'm glad you realized the significance of the torn fabric. It seemed the most logical way for A&2E to think they had lost Legolas. | I'm worried about Legolas huddled unconcious under that rock. I hope he won't be found by his foes, but I fear he won't be found by his friends either, especially since they think he's dead. Author Reply: I'm worried, too, but all I can tell you is that he won't die there. That leaves three choices: escape, his friends or the howlers. Unfortunately, I can't reveal the answer just yet. I'm sure you understand. :o) | |
