I was re-reading this before working on my MEFA review and wanted to drop a line. Since I nominated this you already know how much I love this story, and would truly love to see you deliberate more on the relationship between Boromir and his "little ones". Well, done, sweetie!

Nice little story! In all the fast-pace action of ROTK, you tend to forget how the individual characters might feel about certain circumstances. I've often contemplated the guilt that Pippin must have felt when Gandalf was lost in Moria, if you take my meaning. You should write a story about that. Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to comment! Sorry I haven't replied sooner. This is a scene I would love to have seen in the book, with Pippin talking about Boromir's loss, and Gandalf letting him in on a few important details that I think it would have done him some good to know. I might write something about Gandalf and Moria sometime - thanks for the suggestion! :)

that was wonderful! A poignant moment amidst the chaos, and it lends insight into the characters and that moment in the story. Well-written, I could hear the voices of Pippin and Gandalf - the dialogue was very in character. I really felt for Pippin, but I know those Hobbits are stronger than even they know. great job! monica Author Reply: Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad that you enjoyed it, and you felt it was in character, as that was something I especially wanted to get right. Hobbits definitely are stronger than they realise, and I think Gandalf knows that, which is why I wanted him to reassure Pippin a little, seeing as Pippin's bravery always seems to come as something of a surprise to him. :)
