This was WONDERFUL, Budgie! You have a real talent for writing creepy, gruesome ruffians... right up my alley, I must say. And though I was egging Gandalf and Aragorn on at every step, I have to admit I got a little thrill at how much danger Frodo found himself in. Lovely interaction between Frodo and Gandalf---how I do enjoy seeing the wizard's concern. And I imagine Frodo might be a bit traumatized, too, seeing as how close he came to being assaulted. I hope we'll get to see more Frodo comforting soon! Looking forward to the next chapter.

It has to be the rest of the fellowship, right? Boromir riding, with Sam and Merry behind him? I'm not sure, but knowing you, we're probably in need of some fluffy healing for Legolas. ;)

Wow! That was great. I'm glad that Legolas has at least been looked at. But they are all still in trouble. At more soon please!

I am amazed at how much suspense you manage to give a seemingly harmless story (harmless, judged by the first paragraph, I should add). I had to put this story to a hold for a while (courtesy of RL issues), but read the last four chapters in one go (and vowed to never upset a tree in my life)! Now, I could hope that the dark shape approaching the recently rescued Hobbit and Elf are only their companions, but somehow I doubt it. Eagerly waiting for more, fliewatuet

You and your bloody cliff-hangers. Every chapter ends in one! :) Another great chapter! So tense. Great fight scenes and great angst for Legolas. I love the way the trees are such a real character in this. And the Ring, really. I am very glad to see that Legolas finally has help keeping Frodo safe again and I hope that dark shape approaching is only the rest of the Fellowship. But knowing you, it probably isn't. This is a great story.

Again she strikes! The queen of cliffhangers! Engaging tale, as always! But I keep waiting for the Frodo angst! You can't possibly manage a Budgie story without it, can you? Ariel (who sincerely hopes not!)

That was a wonderfully tense chapter. One thing I like about your story is that Frodo isn't helpless, and neither is Legolas despite his injuries. Harlan was a very dangerous enemy - cunning and ruthless, but clever too, knowing how to use Frodo against Legolas so the trees would not attack. I'm very glad he's dead! Poor Legolas does not sound in a good way - a knee in an open wound can't be good - but he's upright (just) and talking to the trees. I hope they listen to him. Jay

I really enjoyed the fight description. Poor Elf, can't win against that man in the state he is in! And if I thought this story would be over -- far from it! Gladly I wait for the next chapter to follow. Meanwhile I think I'll have time to work on my own story... Take care, - T.
