| I hadn't read this at ff.net either. I'd pretty much given up on that site. I don't care much for Mary Sues or slash (in Tolkien at least), and it seemed to me that ff.net was getting overloaded with both. So I am VERY glad to see another Gimli and Legolas (not Gimli/Legolas!) here on my favorite site. I like your treatment of Legolas's discomfort and loss of control, and Aragorn's calling him on it as it really could have seriously impacted the mission. Author Reply: Ah, yes, it can be difficult to ferret out the quality fics on FF.net. I mostly rely on the favorites lists of authors I trust at this point - I once looked at the unfiltered stories page, and... oye. It was a while before I stopped twitching. I promise, no slash or Mary Sues in this fic. Just good old fashioned character development, and a healthy dose of angst. Hope you enjoy! | |

| I have not read this at FF and I think I will restrain myself from rushing forward to read it there and enjoy the anticipation of installments here. This was very good. I liked Legolas' internal struggle being in such a lifeless place and I think it is very realistic. I also like his interaction with Gimli and especially with Aragorn at the end. Good description of how everyone felt and good analysis of the situation. I'm looking forward to more. Author Reply: Thank you elliska!
