Tis was very beautifuly written... You get to see inside the mind of the twinns, and begin to wonder what will they choose to do...
They are sad as Elrond is left as many others...
Really enjoyed this...

Keep up the writing...

I really enjoyed this. The reasons for both staying and leaving you gave were good.

What I liked most was the way the land reacted to Elrond leaving, and the way that Elladan and Elrohir missed all the people that had once lived there.

Author Reply: Thank you! I tried to look at their situation from both angles because honestly, at that point, I wasn’t sure what direction I was going to have them go. I hope you find the description just as good in this second part.

This is a great beginning! I really liked how you brought up points for both sides, and I can tell you put a lot of thought into the reasons why the twins would want to stay in Middle Earth. Sometimes people overlook the consequences of living forever and how much pain and sorrow it could cause. You have to be a very good writer to describe something so foreign, not dying... and you did an excellent job! However, I’m personally pulling for them to sail west, but I’m glad you’re making it a hard decision. I now wait patiently for this story's conclusion!! Keep writing!

yes yes yes YES YES YES!!!!! This is one of the few Elladan-Elrohir-choosing-paths stories that I have ever read that's actually GOOD!!!!! I look forward to more! And believe me, I know just how you feel with the difficulties of writing...You know JUST what you want to happen, and it's all planned out, except the words just don't sound good together when you try to write; so you decide to put it off till later, and then in about six months or so you stumble back across the story on your computer or in your notebook and realize WHOA, I totally forgot about this story!!! (Pant, pant.) Yeah. I have problems with that too. (Grins sheepishly.)

Author Reply: Thank you so much! I tried very hard to make them less of the carefree elves that so many people write them as. Granted, I like those stories too, but I wanted to try something different.

Yes, that’s exactly what happened! Look how long it took me to update... Actually, I was stuck on something like 5 paragraphs for a solid month until I finally got some inspiration.

I enjoyed reading this again. It still feels sad - the twins have lost so much - but there is hope in the letter from Faramir and their plans to visit Gondor. I wonder what the difficult gifts are?

Whatever decision the twins make in your epilogue, I hope they will stay together. I would hate to see them choose different fates!

Author Reply: Yes, I don’t think I could separate the twins. It just doesn’t seem right.

Unfortunately, we don’t find out what the gifts were... Maybe someday I’ll write a drabble about them.

Very nice. As for the epilogue/wrap-up, I always like to think that the twins stayed in Middle-earth while Aragorn and Arwen were still alive. I imagine said farewell to their brother and to his children, that they buried Arwen in Lorien and then at last went to the Grey Havens to sail with Cirdan, to be reunited with their family in Valinor. In the world of Men, Aragorn and Arwen were the last link to the elder days, and I can't see Elladan and Elrohir staying on much past their deaths. I'll be waiting anxiously to see what you decide to do with this story!

Author Reply: I tried to imagine why the brothers would want to stay in Middle-earth in the first place. When I started this story, I could honestly see them choosing either way but as I explored, I thought there was really only one path for them. I partly blame this on the professor for not writing more about them and not giving more depth to their characters. Of course, then where would the fanfiction writers be? :-) Thanks for reading!
