| Thanks for writing! I am glad you liked the Faramir / Pippin parallel. I have been thinking quite a bit about how much they have in common and how their friendship must have blossomed for Pip to name his son after Faramir. I hope to write more about their relationship, but this was my first try at Pippin – actually, it was my first try at a Hobbit’s voice. I wanted to give him a little gravitas, since he is so often portrayed as little more than a child – but I want him to still be Pippin! I hoped that realizing Faramir was also put in that “youngest” position might give them a good start to their bond. | |

| Wow, this was a very powerful and moving piece. Your imagery is beautiful and I'm even more impressed by how many issues you raised that I've never even considered--such as Faramir and Pippin both being the youngest and considered least-capable. That's just a fascinating insight. I also like Pippin's reason for why he saved Faramir and his flashback to the conversation with Boromir. That was quite nice and stirring. Excellent work. | |
