Again, brilliant work, Regina. I'm greatly surprised more people have not read this. I believe you have, in truth, captured the true Eowyn in this story, complexities and all. And few people ever give Theodred a second thought, even if he is dead. Actually, I believe he was buried at the Fords of Isen, given his last words in Unfinished Tales, saying, "Let me lie here - to keep the Fords till Eomer comes!" However, I do not say this in objection to your tale, as because of Theodred's burial at Edoras you have been able to give us this wonderful story. Author Reply: A confession--I've never really liked the notion of Eomer leaving his cousin out in the middle of nowhere, so I tend to ignore the UT version. ;p And once I got the image of Eowyn preparing the body, I couldn't let go of it. Am delighted you enjoyed it, particularly the view of Theodred; if I can get my other stories done, I'd like to write more about him & his relationship with his cousins. It seems to me that he played a major role in making Eomer & Eowyn what they are. :-) Regina

Thank you for burying poor Theodred before Peter Jackson saw fit to do so! This was quite moving and powerful. Nice work! Author Reply: I'm glad you liked it! :-) I do like showing Eowyn as something other than the sword-wielding shieldmaiden--I don't think she'd decide to become a healer if fighting was all she could do. Again, thanks for the review! Regina
