A charming, poignant chapter. So Frodo drew a picture of Turin and Glaurung…now THAT’s interesting! And we both see Frodo as an artist…it just seems to suit him, somehow. Frodo’s nervousness makes me wonder if he doesn’t have a tiny crush on Livwen? Or is she too young? Hard to know, with Elves! Am going out of town so won’t get back to this for a bit…but look forward to the rest when I return. Author Reply: Perhaps he does have a crush on her--at least she is the first Elf born in the Undying Lands he has begun to develop any kind of relationship with. I've always thought Frodo would be an artist of some sort; and with his connection to Bilbo and books I thought graphic artist, illustrator would fit him fine.

I'm loving this. I now have to go back and read your 28 chapter story (which I put off so I could write my last chapter). Frodo seems increasingly elf-like, even to his dress - the elves seem to see something in him which isn't there in Bilbo. I loved the way Bilbo endured as long as Frodo needed him - and that Frodo could let him go in the end. I love the hobbity afternoon tea, to which Olorin came as Gandalf. (Wouldn't it be great to be able to throw on a whole new body - gives a whole new meaning to the idea of fancy dress.) Look forward to more. Author Reply: Well, I hope you enjoy what comes after. I felt that for those who went to the Undying Lands, the choice to leave it would be more in line with that given to the children of Elros, a realization the time had come or the final loss as the body reaches the end of its term. And I've been intrigued with the idea that for those who had never seen mortals before, this one chance to see them, even if from afar, would bring about a level of fascination. As to what they would perceive when one of their guests went on is, of course, questionable, so this is my own postulation of what might be in such a circumstance.
