And how long did he linger here, I wonder? Author Reply: I like to think that he lived out his life with these people. He would have trained and led the local militia, helped organize the large hunts in the autumn, taught swordsmanship to the children and then the grandchildren of the lord. They would treat him with the utmost respect, recognizing his skill and guessing at his noble background. In the end, he would find peace and a measure of fulfillment. Thanks for all of your reviews yesterday--I thought I had been visited by the Halloween review fairy. :-D

What a wonderful way to imagine the Captain General spending his days, rather than never to feel joy again. Author Reply: Yes, I think he would take great satisfaction and joy in this work, and those lucky boys have the best martial arts instructor in Gondor, LOL!

OK. I have to admit my ignorance. Who's the Armsmaster? Author Reply: Boromir lives!! (So I figured he needed some sort of gainful employment, preferably in a remote location.) Branwyn

Much, much clearer now that you have adjusted the names a bit to reduce confusion. A nice addition to my favorite genre, BoromirLives! Thank you for the lovely gift. Author Reply: Ann, I am so glad you found these over here! Now I must admit my ignorance--when I wrote the first draft of this, I did not know that Barahir was Faramir's grandson. I just thought it was a good-sounding name to use in my drabble (and much confusion ensued). Oops! Branwyn
