He had done it for her. She should not die, so fair and so desperate. If by life or death he could protect and defend her he would and he had. oh yes, Merry did indeed and he was so brave and aww i loved that scene from LotR. This is a brilliant idea and brilliant story~ i love so much of it including that part where PIppin had given Merry the blanket when Merry had fallen asleep and awoke to feel comfortable. Such a sweet scene between Merry and Eowyn~ This was such a great idea fro a story and i'm glad that you wrote this gap-filler! :) The first chapter had great h/c and i loved how you included this : Merry thought for a moment before answering. “I think, that if a woman and a hobbit can change the course of the war and fulfil a prophecy by ridding the world of an evil, then so be it. Like I said yesterday, there are some things deeper and higher than even the soil of the Shire, and I am glad that I know about them now, a little. Though it surprises me to find that I am myself part of something deeper and higher, and not just useless baggage, as I had feared.” precioussssssssss~!!! so true and so Merry and ..so canon. :D Great story--going on to the Epilogue now. :)

I think I reviewed this over at the challenge, or someplace... Sorry to be so vague, I haven't had a cup of tea yeat and there is a little one sitting next to me playing a computer game, with many comments requiring answers on my part! I just love all the little details you include in your stories! It makes them seem so real! One little nitpick and it might just be *me* and not worth worrying about: the plural of "perian" is "periain", I think. At least, that swam up from the depths of memory when I read "perians" somewhere in the chapter. I love the tender way Pippin tucks his cousin in at the beginning, and Merry pondering wandering about in his nightshirt if Pippin hadn't helped him dress, and the conversation with the healer, and of course the entire scene with Eowyn. Well done! Author Reply: I think you reviewed at the challenge site too, lol. Thank you. It was a really hard chapter to write actually and Marigold helped me with more than just betaing with this. I`m sure you`re right about periain, because I don`t know, lol.
