| I really love this chapter, and the next one as well. But my favourite bit is the description of Merry crushing on Estella without even realising it: "The most annoying thing about her is how I can always still hear her voice when I’m lying in bed at night, and somehow that flowery soap of hers works its way into my clothes so that I can smell her even when she isn’t around so that I can’t stop thinking about her." Or maybe he does realise it, and just doesn't want to admit it. At any rate, it is beautifully well written :) Author Reply: Yes, Merry was hopelessly besotted with Estella even before he knew it. | I love this side of Estella. I like the way she gets Merry exactly where she wants him even though it appeared that he had the upper hand in all of this. Looks like Pippin is right, those girls are nothing but trouble. Merry may be older but Estella is the one that knows exactly what she's doing. Author Reply: Estella knew exactly what Merry was attempting to do and she knew just how to handle the situation. Merry will think twice before trying to outsmart her again. Pippin knows his sister far too well. Merry should have listened to him! Glad you enjoyed this. | |

| *Hoo-boy!* I chortled myself silly with this. It's a shame they could not have had Frodo's good advice on evading females--after all he's managed to stay a bachelor all these years! Poor Merry, his fate is sealed! Author Reply: Merry never stood a chance, lol. He should have listened to Pippin for a change, or listened to Frodo and not ignored her in the first place. But somehow, I don't think that would have made too much of a difference. Glad this gave you a laugh. | |

| Another wonderful chapter, but, honestly, "infected"!!! I think I should be horrified and insulted for all girls, but it's so perfectly young Pippin! Going from both POVs was great.
