Very lovely. I know there must be a strong bond between the two. You've shown it greatly. Author Reply: Thank you! i`m glad you liked it. They`ve known each other all of Pippin`s life, and they are very close, indeed.

Really a nice story... For once merry isn't charmed in by pippin to do what he wishes. Merry knows he is sick and will get sicker... Merry is never sick...Very convient... A great story... Author Reply: Thanks, I`m glad you enjoyed it! Merry does get sick too, but for the most part he is very strong and wise and healthy and a great support to the little cousin he loves above everything. If you want sick Merry you can read my stories Heir to Buckland, Of Fish and Feverish Hobbits or Worried Sick. :)

I enjoyed this very much. Merry did a very good job of explaining things even it he wasn't altogether sure about the reasoning behind them and I was glad that Pippin realized that Merry was right in the end. Lovely story! Noticed the title at the bottom "Heir to Buckland" and wondered if this was a part of a series. If so are there others before it or more to come later? Both I hope so there will be lots to read! Author Reply: Thank you! I am glad you liked it. It seems like I connect all my stories together in some way, but I jump back and forth in timeline and haven`t intended the stories to be sequels to each other, but they can of course be read like it. Heir to Buckland is the story behind the tale Pippin has heard about when Merry rode to Standelf to alert the hobbits there. It is set four years before this story. I am working on a sort of sequel to this one, or at least a story that will take up some of the threads from this story. Maybe it will be posted for Challenge 12, maybe later, but look out for it. :)

This very good and well-written. It's a wonderful example of how you can love someone, but still not give into them. I do believe it'd take tremendous will to stand up to THOSE green eyes. Excellent job! HL21 Author Reply: Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. I think Merry had a hard time not giving into Pippin`s wishes, but he knows his Pip and also know how fragile his health are, so he will do all he can to help Pippin stay well. And if that includes saying no to him wanting to go outside, then that is what Merry will do.

Absolutely spot on perfect! You did this *so* well! I remember you making the comment in your LJ about how Merry always seemed to give in to Pip too easily in a lot of fics; you've certainly evened the score here. And you not only did Merry just as well as you always do, but you got little Pip down just so as well. And, by the way, I also love your Eglantine--listening in, and not butting into the conversation the way some mothers would have. Author Reply: Thank you! Poor Merry has a hard job of not giving into Pip, but he knows him and loves him so much that he does all he can to help Pippin stay well. And if that includes saying no to what Pippin really want, then that is what Merry will do. Putting Eglantine in was Marigold`s idea and I like her very much too.
