Legolas' fight with the wolves was very brave and scary. And Aldeon's reaction to it and to the aftermath was very well done. Poor exhausted Legolas. Off to the next chapter. Author Reply: The two brothers must have been both scared witless for each other's safety and I think it is this mutual concern that saved them from the wolves in the end. Legolas is struggling but his determination is holding him up quite well in the circumstances.

Is it safe to come out now? *looks around warily for author wielding dangerous pen/keyboard* Ok, Manderly...it's one thing for us to want a bite of the elf, but really.... What a fight! Thank heavens for that sudden burst of adrenalin when Aldeon yelled at him! You did a very good job with the battle, Manderly...I am very jealous! :-) Now, both elves are in dire straights - Aldeon with the mother of all headaches and can't walk - Legolas with two very nasty bites and he's feeling increasingly frightened that he might not be able to get his brother and himself through this. I do believe our elfling is discovering that all that brotherly concern for his safety would be very welcome right now...and he would love a little help with this difficult situation. Still, he has done a good job for an inexperienced youngster, and I loved the way you so definitely communicated his utter determination that those wolves were NOT going to get to Aldeon! Wonderful chapter...where is the elven search and rescue team, btw? :-) linda Author Reply: Oooh, I like that! Taking a bite out of the elf! How come I never think of these things and I am writing the story? (gives a good smack to the head). I think the fear that the brothers have for each's safety was what really saved them both at the end. Had they not both yelled, the wolves would have had quite a feast. Thank you for your kind words aobut the battle. For some reason, while I was writing that part, the scenes were flashing through my mind like some home video and I was literally scrambling trying to catch it all in words. You are right, Legolas is ready for some heavy duty over-protective coddling from his brothers right now but said brothers are naturally nowhere in sight when they are needed. I think Legolas has more than proven himself and those brothers should really show up now.

I love this story!! It's very good!! I love protective brother stories!! ( Hugs Legolas Plushie ) Keep it up and update soon!! Author Reply: I am glad you are liking the story. There is something about protective brother stories, isn't there? I enjoy writing them and love reading them even more. (You mean there are Legolas Plushies - where can I get mine?). The next chapter should be up shortly. Thanks for reviewing.

Whoops. Sorry about the empty post. I've been following this story and it has definitely drawn me in. Poor Legolas! He's being very brave in spite of his fear and pain. Can't wait to see what comes next! TF Author Reply: Empty post? I can only hope that the story has left you wordless! Only kidding, thanks for reading and reviewing. Yes, Legolas is quite the feisty elf in spite of all that he's facing. I am working on the next chapter and hope to have it up very soon.

This is not good. Poor Legolas is too exhausted and hurt to be of much use if any further danger turns up - and I can't imagine a moment when further danger is more likely to turn up. Aldeon's head injury sounds rather worrying, too. Prolonged unconsciousness not good. Legolas was very courageous in fighting the wolves - I wonder if he's discovered that battle isn't quite as glorious as he imagined. He's very determined, though, and doesn't give up, so he can be pleased with himself. Those brothers had better turn up soon. The cotton wool needs to be re-wrapped around baby brother. Together with an anti-tetanus shot and some antibiotics. Author Reply: Things are looking very bleak for Legolas and Aldeon. Like you said, I think Legolas is realizing that battles are more than a game and is probably ready for some major fussing from his brothers, if they ever show up, with tetanus shots and antibiotics and all. Further danger? I don't know. Seems like the two brothers have more than they can handle right now, but one never knows. Thanks for reviewing.

Hmmm, looks like the little wager they've got going isn't turning out to be too good of a thing, no? Of course, we knew Leggy was going to find trouble. Or should I say, trouble found him! ;) First Aldeon is hurt and now Leggy. How do things always manage to go from bad to worse when Leggy is involved!? LOL I love it though, don't get me wrong. Looks like Legolas is on his own this time. No one to bail him out, at least for now. He's going to have to grow up even more to help Aldeon. Not something any of his brothers want him to do. They're going to be saddened I'm sure at how this experiences changes their little brother. I'm wondering too, since Leggy is so worried about Aldeon, he's neglecting his own injuries. Mabye they'll turn into something more serious because of his unintentional neglect? That'd be grand! *sigh* Heh, heh, now doesn't that sound sadistic? I'm not, really! I only play one in reviews! LOLOLOL! Anyway, great chappy, as was the last one, even though I didn't review. I've gotten a little lazy with the holidays and all I guess. I need to fix that for sure! ;) Catch ya next chappy! Hurry! :) Author Reply: No, I don't think Legolas and Aldeon will win any wager this time, though if it's excitement and danger that they are competing for, then they are definitely the winners! Legolas is quite the trouble magnet, isn't he? If I were his brothers, I'd be hesitatnt to go anywhere with him without taking out full insurance. Legolas is on his own and if his other brothers know how on his own he is, they'd be freaking out, but right now they seem to be blissfully unaware so Legolas will just have to struggle on alone. Legolas' injuries are probably nothing to brush off but he is just too wrapped up with worrying over Aldeon to care anything about himself at this time.

I have to admit, I was hoping for the other two brothers to appear too. Poor Legolas and poor Aldeon. Both are a mess. The wolf attack was pretty intense. I was certainly glad to see the last two wolves decide to leave. Now, where are those overprotective brothers when you need them? Very good, Manderly. I'm glad you're quick at updating; I'm ready for the next chapter. Karen Author Reply: Legolas was probably hoping for his other brothers to arrive too. I was rather uneasy writing about the wolf fight as obviously I don't have much experience in tangling with those creatures. I hope it came across realistically enough and Legolas was not too much of a 'superhero' in fending them off. Yes, where are those overprotective brothers when you need them? Legolas is probably wondering about the same thing himself. Thanks for reviewing.

That was scary. The wolf attack was really terrifying. And then the aftermath is so grim. Here's Legolas out here all alone for all intents and purposes, because Aldeon is unconscious. He knows that that's a bad sign, he's hurt himself, and he's out of healing supplies. Can things get much worse? Author Reply: After writing this chapter, I don't think I want to meet up with wolves any time soon myself. Things are looking pretty grim for the brothers and Legolas must be scared half witless by now. Things can't get much worse, or can they?
