| Love it! Pippin you can see is so excited his little toy falcon can fly almost like he does in his excitment...He wants the one who is most important in his life to share his excitment his father. He runs into his study with nothing but joy in his eyes, and his father turns that joy to sadness. As sometimes parents don't listen to what is important to thier child. Disinheartened pippin leaves and the toy that gave him such joy hours ago,can give him nothing but emptyness because the one he wanted to share it with ignored him...Lovely....Please continue... Author Reply: Thank you for your thoughtful review. And you're right, poor little Pip-lad. He strives for his father's approval, and since he doesn't get it, he thinks that whatever he did was not good enough, and so doesn't see any point in being proud of it himself. | |

| Lovely...though I think you made one tiny mistake: that part where you clicked "complete." :) I hope this is just the beginning of a wonderful story of this relationship (and that your Paladin realizes the error of his ways)! | I do believe that your Paladin is nearly as mean as the one that I write. I loved Pearl's reaction to Pippin knocking her down. Such a difference to his father's reaction. I enjoyed reading this one. Author Reply: I have always felt that Paladin would have a hard time connecting, even understanding his son, because of many reasons... and also the gap of differences between them was made even larger for the fact that Paladin was always trying to prove himself to be a capable Thain, and once he did so had Pippin to deal with. (Pippin always lolling about, getting into trouble and just being his curious self, being the exact opposite of what Paladin thought he needed to be in order to be considered proper). | Aww, poor Pippin. You should write a sequel, when his mother gives Paladin a talking-to about breaking the poor kid's heart like that. Poor little Pip, he's just being an adorable little boy. Author Reply: His mother ought to give Paladin a talking-to (or rather a slap across the ol' puss if she knows what's right) but I'm afraid she might be lax in noticing at all, for Paladin would never tell her. Still, Pip was just trying to impress his father, the poor, little laddie. | |
