I like the thought of how Legolas must have been tempted by the ring; and it's an area few writers have touched. I'm sure it tried its wiles on all the fellowship. I like this part: Mirkwood become green and whole, and his father and people released from the ever-encroaching shadow. It had shown him his people restored to the greatness of ages past. That must have been what he longed for. The image of Legolas standing over his father's dead body is horrifying - but it makes an intriguing plot bunny! Thank you for this, Kate! Jay Author Reply: You're quite welcome to that plot bunny, because I doubt I'll ever write it - too depressing. I obviously don't understand Hobbits very well; because I can't see what it would tempt Merry and Pippin with, at least not at the beginning. Thank you for commenting again.

wow very nice ficlet~ i always wondered how the Ring would tempt Legolas. very good job. Only one thought in terms of editing: "It has shown him these things and he had turned away." i think you were speaking in past tense in the paragraph before, so i think it's best to keep the tenses consistent? good job though~ :) Author Reply: Thank you for commenting! I'm still not completely sure how the Ring would have tempted Legolas, but it would probably have been something to do with saving his home. Thanks for pointing out the typo. I didn't mean to slip into present tense.
