| Lovely flashing glimpse of Boromir, laughing, charming the servants, tossing sugared almonds in his mouth. Author Reply: Ah, that golden boy - who could resist his charm? Not that Faramir wouldn't have been beloved as well, but I picture him as smaller and shyer, less outgoing, but no less thoughtful and interested in the people around him. Those upstairs/downstairs kinds of scenes must have been quite interesting... (*Ann sees plotbunny peeking impishly around corner, and runs to get a broom* Shoo!) | |

| Boromir would just have to have a sweet tooth because it is such a loveable vice, showing the slightest weakness and lack of self control in this stern warrior. Besides, he is a big man and deeds of errantry burn up a lot of calories so he would often be hungry! The old cook loves him dearly so she spoils him as best she can. I can see Faramir standing at a table in the corner, covered with flour, struggling at this unfamiliar task while the routine of the kitchen bustles on around him. I like the theme of this drabble--that we cook for those we love. :-) Author Reply: Mag the Cook is my real Mary-Sue. I wouldn't have stood a chance against the fair young things of Minas Tirith, but in the kitchen, I would have ensnared Boromir's heart forever. | |
