I do love a good cliffhanger and this definetly qualifies. If my memory is correct, which is highly debatable, I think the dark men are after Legolas. I can't wait to see what happens next. This is such a wonderful tale. I am a Legolas fan also. In fact, he is my favorite. Tari Author Reply: I can't remember if you said you'd read this story before, Tiari, but if you have, then you would know the answer to the question of whether the dark men are after Legolas. :-) If you've progressed to other chapters, you'd know by now. Hope you're still enjoying it. Thanks for the review. Legolass

Ooops! Forgot! Brain on a low-level power right now...barely functioning! In regards to your reply to that first review I left - it is not any trouble at all to review this story! I dearly LOVE the friendship between Aragorn and Legolas and I have pictured it in my mind as being exactly the close, loving relationship you have written for them here. All I can say is BRAVO! and keep putting that love between these two strong characters into words! (Also noted this your FIRST fanfic?????? Wow! Wow! *bows to Legolass and muse* I am amazed at the depth you've captured in it!) linda Author Reply: Thank you, Linda, you're making me *blush* - but I am delighted you find the portrayal of the friendship to your liking. Long live that friendship - even beyond their departure from Middle-earth... *Sniff*

Whew! You write one mean battle scene, Legolass! Poor Lishian and Galean! They were so brave and dedicated to following their orders to protect Arwen and Eldarion, only to fall! I dislike intensely elves dying in battle (placing the elves and Haldir at Helm's Deep in the movie almost killed me!) even tho' intellectually I know it's a hazard of the time they lived in. *sniff* I really liked the way you paced this, too...from the intensity of full-out fighting to the sudden numb calm afterwards...and then suddenly Legolas realizes something is wrong with Eldarion! And all the while, many miles away, a King's connection to his family wakes him up and sets him on sudden, urgent trip home! Lovely tense chapter! linda (Yes, you and couple of other QCWs *Queen Cliffie Writers* dearly LOVE to torture your readers with a cliffie or two or three...you should feel shame...to treat your faithful readers so un-gently ;-) while I, on the other hand, couldn't write one if I happened to be hanging from it! LOL) Author Reply: I know how you feel about elf deaths, Linda - it saddens me each time I think of the destruction of any one of those beautiful creatures, but it has been occuring since the First Age, in tragic ways too, so I had to keep it realistic, even though it hurt. :-( On another note: I like your acronym - QCW lol! Ooooh ... what an amusing vision: you hanging from a cliffie, yelling, positively screeaaamming your lungs away.... for Legolas to come save you! :-)

Just when I think I've read all the great LOTR fiction out there I stumble across another great one. This story has a unique plot. I lilke what you've done with Aragorn and Legolas' friendship. It makes sense that after all the years they have known each other they would have some disagreements. The fact that Aragorn is stressed out as king is believable. I must admit, I cheated. You mentioned you had posted more chapters elsewhere, well, lets just say I'm up to chapter 13. Hey, once I'm hooked I can't stop, and I'm hooked. I can't remember which chapter it was in but I thought the conversation between Aragorn and Faramir about duty etc., was excellent. It was a great way to explore Aragorn's feelings about his life and being king. Nice work all around. I look forward to reading more, but alas, I must go to work. Ugh. Author Reply: Wantanelf, thank you, I'm glad you liked the story here and the conversations 'elsewhere' lol! And I don;t mind that you 'cheated' - it's available for anyone who wishes to get a - shall we say - full preview? :-) Hope you enjoy the rest of the chapters.

Hi! Very interesting story... I am looking forward to finding out who the men from the east are. It will also be interesting to see how Aragorn reacts; I always thought that sometimes Aragorn was a little too snappish with Legolas. Good job! Author Reply: Thank you, Unheard Crime (interesting name, BTW). You will find out soon enough :-) and hint: more snappishness coming.

This is a wonderful start. You had me smiling, laughing, crying and trembling in fear. That is the makings of a great story. Please, please, continue posting. Thank you for sharing your gift. Author Reply: Thank you so much, Robinscat. I hope you will enjoy the chapters to come -- you may not laugh much for some time, though.

I love this story! The suspense and action almost killed me. I hope the next chapter won't take too long. ^_^ Author Reply: Lia, thank you - you are my first reviewer. *hug* No, if this story gains enough interest, the coming chapters will not be long in coming.
