For the Love of the Lord of the White Tree  by Legolass 3 Review(s)

Hmmm, I thought the previous chapter was sad - this one just about did me in!

Aragorn's POV - Arwen confronts him "You know he would give his life for you or any of us...how could you say that to him?" *you go, girl!* And then just as the King might actually go after him, Eldarion wakes up and Aragorn realizes he cannot leave right then. I lost it when he took his very ill little boy in his arms and wept.

Legolas' POV - shocked and pummeled by so many feelings, accusing and conflicting - our elf is seriously handicapped right now, and he's making some pretty serious decisions in that state. Not good. At. All. I do like Hamille - he seems like a supportive, strong friend (and he sticks up for his Prince...I really like that!) :-) So he's going home IMMEDIATELY to interrogate another of the bad guys captured later after the battle. He should have let Faramir know so they could have sent help. But you know in that vow of his, HE must redress the wrong done...stubborn, noble ELF!

Back to Aragorn - watching from the balcony as Legolas leaves the city...realizing he could have gone after him...begging him silently to turn and come back like he's done before so things could be settled between them. Poor guy, about the only right in that day of his was Eldarion waking up and the fact that Arwen still loves him and is putting up with his foot-in-mouth disease!

Another great sad chapter, Legolass!

Yes, the two of them had to make difficult decisions at that point: to go or not to go after someone you hurt, when someone else who is hurt needs you as well; to tell or not to tell about the information you have just learnt, when you have your own pride (yes, I think Legolas was trying to redeem himself as well) to consider.

Don't we all - like Aragorn and Legolas - go through such situations in our lives!

HAd Legolas informed Faramir, and they had put together an army right then - the story would have gone so differently, and Legolas would never have ended up spilling his ten-year-old secret to Aragorn in the cave eh?

So did things work out for the better in the end? Hmmmmmm.....

Oh you have at leastone avid reader Legolass! I spent half of last night tracking down your other posting of this. But I promise I won't peek anymore. Great stuff - do keep it coming please!

Hahaha - that's okay, Harrowcat, and you're not the only one peeking! I think if someone likes it enough to spend time tracking it down - I should take it graciously as a compliment and let them peek all they want. This gradual posting here is for those who visit only this site and don't mind taking it slow. My posting here was delayed because the site managers were updating the submission form.

p.s. Chapter 18 is up. :-)

Wow I am so glad I sat down and read this story. The last 3 chapaters where so touching. I feel so bad for Legolas and Aragorn now. There friendship was strained before this, but now its streched so far one would think it was about to snap. I hope Legolas doesnt do anything rash =] do update sooon! ^_^

Yes -- it has been painful, and I'm glad you see that is for both of them. Will Legolas do something rash? The later chapters will tell... and the next 5 won't be long in coming, I assure you. Can't promise beyond that though. But I hope you stay with me. Thank you VERY much for taking the time to respond. It can get a little lonely writing without knowing if it is speaking to anyone out there. :-)
