Very beautiful. I love the interlude between the fairy and the young adult Pippin. He is, as I have said in my own stories, one who has come to maturity the hard way, by accepting the responsibilities of an adult.

Oh...my...gosh!!!! Awesome, awesome, AWESOME, Pearl!!! What a terrifying thing for Pippin to experience being a “man”, beating young hobbits and their families–just add that to the profound horrors the lad has already encountered in the War. I just wanted to cry with Pippin, weeping at the fear from looking into the Palant r before–wonderful insight: “I was alone then. All alone.” The small body on the ground trembled, fragile fingers continued their caressing. “He looked at me. I . . . I was a speck of dirt. He . . . He was in my head. He made me want to . . . to die . . . die if I did not tell what He wanted to know. He . . . was in my mind . . . and I knew I was nothing . . . I was filth, decayed and loathsome. A speck for Him to flick away then watch crawling through the filth . . . He ripped me apart . . . for the pleasure of ripping . . . the pleasure of destroying . . . and I was alone. Alone.” - PT And the history of Callassisul--Pippin blurting out how old she *didn’t* look! Brilliant, if I may say so...bsolutely brilliant. Have I told you lately how much I love this story??? Well, I DO! So gripping...so well written. I can’t think of anyone who could have written this any better–you were definitely meant to write this marvelous, untold story. Thank you for weathering all the heartache. :-) Pippinfan

*sigh of relief* I am so very glad you posted these two chapters together. The last was a strain to read, this one started out so but ended in such a lovely and loving way. It makes perfect sense, the way you explain fairies as akin to elves in the way hobbits are akin to men. VWD! Author Reply: Mysterious Ways, who reads all of my stuff before it's posted, suggested that I post these together for just that reason and that sounded like a good idea to me. Thank you so much for reading and responding :)

I am sorry not to have reviewed recently, but I just caught up with a few chapters tonight and this is still a wonderful story. I love the fairie and her conversation with Pippin. I also love the fact that all of this time he didn't really believe the tales of the Took fairie bride. His comparison to the children of Gondor hearing tales of halflings was so interesting. It seems that many of the old legends and myths are true. Lovely!..... Author Reply: I've often wondered how many are true. Thank you, GW, for responding so often :), you do just fine :)

Poor Freddy! To be dragged throught the streets like that! I also feel bad for those who gave him up, they would have stood stronger if others hadn't been involved. How very difficult! Pippin's dream was creepy! That he would not only witness Freddy's being found and all but that he saw it as one of Ruffians who captured and hurt him! How terrible! Then to speak with Saruman! Yuck! Poor Pippin certainly had a terrible night of it! I am glad that he got to meet the Fairy though! How spendid! Now he will understand things more and hopefully he and Esmeralda will be able to talk on some of this together. Looking forward to more! Thank you! Author Reply: More is one the way :) Thank you for responding, Hai :)

This continues to be so very amazing, Pearl. "But you did not break, my Falcon. You held true to those to whom love binds you. Cousins, long trusted friend and Fellowship all." *sigh* Author Reply: Thank You so very much, shirebound! I was beginning to wonder if anyone was going to respond to this latest posting. I'm glad that you feel the writing has remained at a good level. Thank you so very much, again!!! :)
