Oh my-! That first "pub"... did our four travellers stumble into a brothel? *heehee* And "The Bird and the Baby"! Lovely tribute to the pub that the Inklings favored. But it's "The Rose Garden" that I want to visit. Strider, Faramir, Imrahil and the hobbits are my kind of crowd! Author Reply: Thank you for you lovely comment! This was one of the first things I ever wrote. I cringed to reread it today (but only a little bit, it wasn't really all that bad). I remember the day I wrote it: it was snowing, I was off work, and asked for prompts from my friends. What a lot of fun that day was! Thanks for your kind words and reminding me of that day.

Oh, I just love this! Point me to The Rose Garden, I wanna party with the hobbits and Imrahil and Strider and Faramir! You paint a great picture with your words here. Author Reply: You and me both! It would be hard to concentrate on the food, though, with such glorious company.

This is so great that it's made me hungry! I love the image of them all sitting around the table, eating and sharing Boromir stories. Author Reply: Thank you! I envisioned something like an Irish or Italian wake; not so much crying as laughing and drinking and eating and storytelling and drinking and laughing.

How nice! I can just see them on a quest for pub food. They'd never find it lacking at taverns in the Shire that's for sure. Good thing they found Prince Imrahil! "The Bird and Baby"! LOL! You sly thing you! Author Reply: *giggle* Thanks!

"The Bird and the Baby" aka "The Eagle and Child" -- meeting place of the famous Inklings! Great references! Mum Author Reply: Actually, "The Bird and the Baby" is all I could remember, though I knew it was actually called something else. Thanks for jogging my memory!
