| One of my favorite scenes from the movie! I love Pippin calling the heir of Gondor "old man" and asking him if he is getting tired. Nice view of Boromir teaching (no doubt he had a great deal of practice at it back in Gondor). | |

| This sounds exactly like something Boromir would think. He probably did think of them as children, even thought they were not much younger than himself, in fact Frodo being older. Good insight. Author Reply: I think, in addition to his innate suspicion of elves and dwarves, Boromir would have been quite insulted at the idea of playing nursemaid to what he would have considered useless hangers-on, at best, and dangers to the mission, at worst. Each day would have been a new learning experience for him; he may have even surprised himself as his respect and love for the little ones grew, day by day. Ann | |
