Beautiful love letter from Denethor! And what a tender and bright depiction of spring. I especially liked the riotous trumpeting of the daffodils. The last line is a little funny as if, after being carried away by the excitement of spring, he suddenly remembers himself--"oh, right, I am trying to entice her back here..." How could Finduilas have resisted him?

Author Reply: My Denethor, though besotted, knows exactly what he is doing - enticing her by letting brief glimpses of his poetic side appear, then hurriedly concealing them again. He's such a tease!

Delightful! Especially the third one. Can practically smell the flowers. Keep it up, this is some fine writing....

I wrote it on a dreary day, so it was a much a prayer of hope, as a vision of the White City at its loveliest.

This was so lovely!

Your description of early spring's flowers and birds make me appreciate again the beauties of my country home.

I'm especially impressed with the outpouring of "sane" Denethor's heart.

Again, a lovely drabble. Thank you for sharing it.

Author Reply: Thank you for your kind words!

I was inspired while in the midst of reading "Courting the Lady", and so I have somewhat subconsciously mimicked Celandine's writing style, and her vision of cool, collected head-over-heals-in-love Denethor. It sounds like a strange combination, but she's brought him to life so well! A lovely story - you would enjoy it very much, I think.
