This is wonderful - you know that I want to see what happens to him next! : ) Author Reply: Well, I'd kind of written it as a one-shot. I had just read a news report of a man finally going free after serving thirteen years in prison for a murder he didn't commit, and it made me think a little. I may write more stories along this line, though. What do you think of that? Oh, and I don't know if you know, but I've continued that "Room of Tears" fic that I wrote for your challenge last year. It's called "Masquerade", and it's gone batty on me (in a good way) if you're interested. :)

Good thing our favorite Steward looked into it. How long was he in prison? Author Reply: Twenty years. Poor man, and I imagine that Faramir felt pretty wretched about the whole affair.

How very, very sad! And joyful! This is a well-written piece of old wrongs set right and two lives restored by the return of the King. I applaud Faramir for looking into such an obviously old case and wanting to remedy the terrible wrong done to the man who was only trying to protect his sister. Although the King and the Steward cannot replace the 20 years lost, they at least gave the man a chance to live with his wife as a free man. The very last part of him lying in his wife's arms looking up at the stars and weeping, free at last, was very evocative. Well done! linda Author Reply: I wrote this after reading a very sad news report of a man who was finally free after thirteen years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. It got me thinking about what it would be like to be really free after so much time in captivity. Human emotion fascinates me, lol. I'm glad you like it!
