This is true friendship, caring for people as they are, seeing them gifted with what they need, even if it offends us in some small way.

This is lovely. Legolas's desire to give Gimli something he has made for him - even if it is for the vile pipeweed - is such a good indication of their new relationship. And his aunt's acknowledgement that he is grown up and a warrior and that, although she knows it, she still worries is lovely. I enjoyed watching her go to Gimli to ask him to watch the ellon's back (especially as her little ellon is at least twice Gimli's age), and enjoyed his response both to her and her request. If he had stayed much longer in Lothlorien he would have definitely ended up an honorary elf.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW wasn't that just so sweet of Legolas... I can just see him all excited about giving Gimli the pipe. Nimendis is a lovely aunt....if a little overprotective hehe....though who wouldn't be around that adorable elfling we all love so well ;) It's nice to see this lighthearted, youthful side to Legolas. Afterall, even elves were young once!!! It's an interesting relationship dynamic, to have Legolas perceived as "younger" than Aragorn and Gimli. So often, Legolas is portayed as millenia older in fanfiction, though I feel the books don't really give that impression of him. Young Legolas is just so much more engaging! Anyhow...I love what you've done here...these little vignettes are amongst my favourites!!

Legolas's aunt asking Gimli to look after Legolas was very sweet, as was Legolas's gift for him. I love how you are portraying the relationships of all these people! Great job.
