lol@ Tang. Do they still sell that stuff? So I guess that makes Earendil an astronaut?

Author Reply: Yes! You got the reference! I googled it (hopeless geek here). Supposedly Tang is still available. I haven't seen it in Canada since I was a teenager and I haven't been a teenager for a very long time.

Thanks for the review.

Ah, very wise of Haleth to resist, for the mortal who drinks T'Ang may become hopelessly addicted to the substance. I for one cannot get through a morning without T'Ang.....
;-p ;-D
Cheers,

Author Reply: Thank-you Chibi-Kaz

Indeed the drink of immortals is perilous to the Second Born. Who can tell what consequences might have developed if Haleth had partaken of the T'Ang? She might have not been able to get along without it and Inglor would have been forced to spend his days preparing enough to satisfy her cravings.

LOL!! T'Ang! Very crafty use of modern world stuff in Middle Earth. Did you know that tang was originally created for space travel? This could connect with Earendil's uses!

Author Reply: Thank-you, Yelena

I can't take the credit...or maybe I should say the blame...for the T'ang idea. My husband came up with it. I don't think I want to know what made him think of it.

Thanks again.

Mmm,could you please tell me where the queue to trade places with Haleth is? I fear I did not grasp the last part, but it doesn't matter, the flow of uncertainty, grudges and plain exasperation is still very, VERY amusing. And yes, they're perfectly canonical to me! I wonder what's going to happen now with the palantir, shall they lose it, or fight for it or....get drunk and throw it away?

LOL! I'm sure there are times when Haleth would be more than happy to exchange places with you.

Sorry about the last part. It's written from Haleth's point of view and she has no clue about what it all means.

Have you read this before? The answer is yes.

Ok... I'm a little confuzzled here...

I get that she's mad at him for 'losing her' in a bet, but he Won her back (along w/everything else), right? She's mad on principle (and because she's Haleth), and I get that too, but... ::smoke pours from her ears as brain gives up the battle to be functional:::

Ok... just what is he up to and what about the Palantir!?!?!? I'm so loving this, even if I get a bit lost! LOL

Author Reply: You've nailed the reason for Haleth's reaction. She's upset on principle. Inglor could have at least asked her before gambling away her freedom. It doesn't matter that he won her back. He just as easily could have lost.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

Anger was a potent fuel - yes, we have ALL been there where the male of whatever speicies is concerned ..sorry- that sounds VERY odd- you know what i mean. I am so enjoying reading this- Haleth is wonderful. So, where next? They obviously know about the palantir and have just retrieved it rather than stumbled across it- so what are they going to do with it? Although, at the moment, i am much more interested in whether Inglor feels the same for Haleth as she does for him. The 'mild anticiaption' - either this is the same Legolas Gimli baiting that goes on, or there is a fissance (sp?) of sexual desire... Is the crack in Inglor's facade beginning to show? Or is he just downright mischevious? I loved the way you had him with no shirt in the wager, and then threw himself on top of everything- and the Lossath's nervousness that he might actually WIN Haleth. Please write more soon!

Author Reply: Thank-you for the review. I'm very glad that you're enjoying the story.

The wonderful thing about Inglor is that he does things and reacts in ways that are totally incomprehensible. They'd probably mean something to another elf, but a human just can't decipher them. It makes him interesting in a maddening sort of way.

As for the Lossoth, I think he was a wise, wise man. I wouldn't want Haleth around for an extended period of time, either; especially if she didn't want to be here. She'd make life exceedingly miserable for everyone in the general area. Come to think of it, if I were male, I wouldn't want Inglor around. The women would always be following him around. Who could compete?

"I should apologize for it. It was one of those ideas that occurred at 1 am. It seemed very funny at the time..."

I don't think an apology is in order at all. It is quite funny, and I read it in the full light of day. I'm still laughing...and gratified that was what I thought it might be. I like your thinking...verrry twisted... ~TF

Author Reply: Thank-you...I think. I can't actually claim credit for the idea. It was my own, personal Inglor who came up with it. He can be quite twisted.

LOL! I'm with TithemFeredir on this. I wouldn't mind waking up in Inglor's arms -- oh no, not in the least... ;-D

This is my favorite line:

The list was not very long when Haleth was being reasonable, but she was in no mood to be reasonable.

Haleth really knows how to hold a grudge in style, doesn't she? ;-)

Author Reply: Thank-you!

Poor Inglor. I don't think he could have anticipated Haleth's reaction to...well...anything, really.

Haleth is a bit older. She tries to see things from Inglor's perspective and is perfectly aware that she is being unreasonable. She still can't suppress or ignore her feelings.

Well...the first thing that popped into my head was that I'd trade places with Halleth in a minute to wake up cradled in an elf's arms. Inglor is such a gentleman. But that last bit. I'm sorry, but I was off and laughing for quite a while over it. One might speculate as to whether or not Earendil could, (or should) be thought of as an astronaut... ;-) ~TF

You caught the reference!

I should apologize for it. It was one of those ideas that occurred at 1 am. It seemed very funny at the time...
