Oh well done! This was -- well, it wasn't exactly a pleasure to read, but the excellence of the writing was very inspiring. Very, very scary. Jeodo

wow. Dark and haunting.... and comuppance for old Lotho. (which of course we already knew was coming) I really like your take on this... and Grima is so dad gum slimey here! Good job.. you 'freaked me out' with your characterazation of him. He really was icky-nasty at the end there, wasn't he? I do have a question tho... I thought he and Lobilia were MARRIED, not mother and son. That had to be the biggest 'surprise' to me. Guess I should brush up on my hobbit family trees, eh? LOL

It's chilling because we know what's going to happen. I like the poem at the begining. It sounds very much like Lotho. I liked how he was trying to tell himself that he didn't miss Marigiold's presence. Good job! :-)

Interesting. I'm not a fan of Lotho, but I actually felt pity for him in this fic even though he really did set his own trap. Keep writing! Namarie! Loremaster

Unfortunately, Lotho has earned this. Love the idea that because the Gaffer refused to allow a courting of Marigold by Lotho that this was the reason for the displacement. Hadn't thought of such a thing; but the self-centeredness of Lotho is apt for it, of course. Well, well done.
