My dear BB! I've said before and I'll say it again! You truly have a gift for writing Hobbits! "Trust me, it will fun!" LOL!!!!!!!!!! You only have to know who saying those words and you know it will be trouble!!! Loved the listing of mishaps culminating in the Hornets-berries-future king in river! I rolled up as I read !! LOL!!! Very funny! Also the leisurely trip to Bree to I wanted to crawl through the computer screen and sit there with them. And all the mention of truly delicious-sounding food was really wonderfully conceived! Loved it! Must read chapter two! MM (THE PEF) Author Reply: Ah, but I can just see the two mischievous hobbits leading our favourite Ranger into all sorts of trouble. :-)) As for writing hobbits - it is disconcertingly natural. I think I must be a hobbit really. I sometimes wonder if it is because the hobbits are sort of English and there's a bit of hobbit in the genes......... The trip to Bree does sound rather lovely, so if I find you in the Shire soon I shan't be surprised.

Hoorah, another Baggins Babe story! :) This is so sweet, I love all the cute little details you always add in. Pippin and Merry up to their mischief again? You'd think they'd learn by now! ;) Hmm ... a big hand, huh? Definately a ranger - yay! Waiting excitedly for the next chapter! ~ swg ~ Author Reply: Merry and Pippin will never change - they know each other too well.I can picture them still squabbling amiably when they're old and grey. :-)) Now why would you think the large hand belongs to a Ranger? I'm tickled that no-one has even wondered if they are about to be menaced by one of the many dodgy characters who were lurking in the Pony! :-)) We shall see who the hand belongs to in the next chapter - hope you can bear the wait. Thank you for your kind words - glad you enjoy the BB universe!

Have been waiting for Strider and Faramir to show up. About time. Author Reply: Who wouldn't want our favourite Rangers at Sam's birthday? I know the unused epilogue says something about Aragorn visiting and seeing Elanor although she did not remember, so I cheated a bit. Anyway, who needs an excuse to write Strider and Faramir? :-))

"And the 'sightseeing in Rivendell, damaged hornets' nest, angry snake, Ranger and future King in river' incident?" Poor Aragorn...They do seem to drag him into trouble don't they? ROTFLOL!!! And little Merry lad's appearance...*snicker* Then Frodo telling about Merry's dash through the Aunts tea party...Oh my!! :oD My youngest nephew went through that phase too. They eventually do grow up and wear clothes. LOL!! Hmmm...Who could these Men be? I can think of who two of them might be and possibly one of the others. I w/out a doubt have a good idea whose hand is about to clasp Sam's shoulder. Can't wait to find out if I'm right. :oD Sigh...I love this universe. It's so lovely to see what could have been if Frodo had been able to be healed in Middle Earth. Now, please hurry up and update!!! :oD Author Reply: I could see little Merry-lad so clearly, standing in the doorway looking pleased with himself. :-)) I'm sure Merry was a little rascal when he was a faunt, so there should be plenty of tales to tell. Merry and Pip CAN do serious, but when they're with Frodo they just revert to daft tweens acting silly. I love these two.

She watched Frodo bounce the properly clean and tidy baby. Little Pip's feet danced on his uncle's knees and he made all sorts of approving gurgles. He disliked being dressed or undressed but was perfectly happy once the process was over. This is the happiest household to ever grace Middle-earth. I adore the gentle teasing, the love, and how comfortable and easy everyone is with one another. Looks to be another great story, BB! Author Reply: Thank you for that. I like angst as much as the next person but figured I'd give Frodo a break because he's had far too much of it. I imagine that hobbits who have known each other for a long time and have been through what these have, would be very comfortable with each other. They're an easy-going and cheerful people - wish I could live in the Shire. *sigh*

Now if that's the King, I'm going to be overflowing with glee! Strider at Sam's birthday!! Of course, it could be Legolas--no, you specifically said "Men"--or Faramir? or hmmm...? There's a lot to love in this chapter: the anecdotes about Merry's and Pippin's mishaps, the discussion of the Old Forest--Merry and Pip have the 'tree-light' in them, according to Treebeard, as they drank Ent draughts, and the trees recognise them as brothers. But I think the main reason is that we're not the timid hobbits we once were, and perhaps the Old Forest, like Fangorn, is a place where you are brought face to face with your own darkness. *Exactly* what I have thought about the Old Forest after the Quest was over! And the squabble over cloud shapes! How wonderful--especially when you realize that Merry's only two years off his fiftieth birthday himself! Those two will never change! And now a mysterious Man...(oooh, oooh I hope it's Strider...) Author Reply: Thought I'd crank up the tension just a teensy bit. :-)) Keep you on the edge of your chair until I update! Merry and Pip will never change - they'll be squabbling over cloud shapes and breakfast sausages when they're a hundred! Difficult to imagine Merry as nearly fifty. Couldn't resist a few anecdotes about their past antics. *Wonders what Dreamflower looks like when overflowing with glee* Is it messy?

I love this Baggins Babe. Pleeeese update soon. You had me in stitches over Aragorn in the water and the snake. Author Reply: I'll do my best with the update, but glad you enjoyed the tale of Aragorn's unexpected bath. :-))
