Well ... I can see this going bad. Somehow I suspect this won't be as smooth as they would like. I read the other Halloween story at the link you sent me, BTW. It was great! She does such a good job w your character setup, and it was a cute little story. Thanks for passing it along!

Of course Bilbo too has his secrets, lol! I had to laugh out loud at Merry putting the Ranger in place, LOL! I`m very excited to see what will happen now, surely the trip to the forest can`t be completely without danger, and what if Frodo gets worse?

Whew! I've finally caught up on this fic, and I'm loving it! I don't know how you come up with plots like this; they're always so riveting! I'm curious to find out what happens in the Old Forest. I like Thalguron. The way he interacts with the hobbits amuses me, and I loved his incredulous line about going hungry. Scamp is a sweety, sitting with Halbarad. I'm waiting eagerly for the next chapter!

just re-reading (tut, tut and in work time too!) 'Few feet inside' indeed, as if we believe that! What was that about curiosity killing furry, four legged creatures? Aragorn and Bilbo are as bad as each other. And me too, ofcourse! Oh well 'All well as ends better' to quote the Gaffer! Can't wait til the next update.

Read this a few days ago and dashing in to comment while our house guest is away for the day. I'm really touched by Estel's Vulcan mind meld with Frodo (oops, sorry, wrong fandom!). I'm wondering, together with Bilbo, how he does that. It's marvelous (and scary) how Frodo is inspired by Bilbo's Adventures in Burgling. Smart enough to nearly get in serious trouble there (ooh, more trouble to come?). Feel a little lightheaded thinking about LotR/Star Trek crossovers, aaghh! I'm so intrigued by this story! Must go, but wanted to comment before you go to see the exhibit. Have a great time!

I'm terribly curious to know what Frodo is going to experience once he's in the Old Forest. I loved the image of him scheming to borrow Bilbo's ring in order to steal the key from Aragorn, lol. The poor boy really is just completely out of his head. I can't wait to see what happens next. :D

The trees know who Aragorn is, seem to see him as part of their future as well. Excellent.

In answer to your... answer: Merry definitely was raised in such a way. This chapter was simply amazing. It made me shiver at the begining and now I'm as eager as Frodo to get back into the Old Forest and reveal the secret of the trees. Thanks for that dream! That reminded me of something I almost forgot in my German story - the sea.

YIKES!! This is interesting and Bilbo's right too. Yes, *Halbarad* was able to sleep off the effects, but he was in The Old Forest at the time. Frodo's outside of it and who knows what might happen. Interesting twist that the trees are trying to give Aragorn a message and I have a feeling it has everything to do w/those bones. Looking forward to the next chapter very eagerly!!! :o)
