| I'm evil . . . I waited till I had read all twenty before leaving a response. These are wonderful :) frightened lads stuck up a tree rebuilding a damaged wall noticing the Tookish curiosity in a pair of blue eyes eager eyes and a quick hand following after pebbles not caring if it's a reciting of a grocery list - as long as it's the story telling voice Wonderful, Wonderful imagry, Dreamflower!! MEWD!! :) Author Reply: Nothing evil about it! It's nice to know that they had a cumulative effect, even though they were scattered up and down the timeline (due to the vagaries of the themes) and it is lovely to see which images stuck with you most--some of them favorites of my own! | How I've missed your stories! Pippin had jam, half an apple pie, and some honey-sweetened tea for a midnight snack? No wonder he's bouncing off the walls! 'He had spent the intervening four hours prowling about Bag End, snooping, as he was too wound up to go back to sleep.' Snooping for what? It's his birthday, so he was the one giving out presents, unless Frodo were going to give Pippin one the day before his birthday. 'He heard a thump, a thud, and a yell from Merry’s room, followed by a slamming door and the sound of footsteps running. Merry must have gone back to sleep, and Pippin had probably taken the expedient of rolling him onto the floor to waken him.' The cousins are so gentle about the way they wake each other up in the morning! lol! I can hear Pippin's laughter. It was very thoughtful of Sam and his sister to prepare a lavish dinner for the three cousins, even if it was his way of thanking them for building the wall so he could accompany them to Tookland. How lovely that they were all able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise together. Thank goodness Pippin made sure he woke the others up. It was probably one of the best birthday presents Pippin could have given them. Author Reply: Oh I am so glad to see you back! I've missed you! Yes, my Pippin has the unfortunate combination of a limitless sweet tooth and hyperactivity. And he was snooping just to be snooping. He's Took, he's curious, and he was bored--he really didn't need another reason, LOL! But if he had come across a gift Frodo'd set aside for him, he wouldn't have complained. I always remember how Frodo rolled Pippin out of his blankets in "Three's Company" in FotR. I figure the three of them were none to careful about waking one another up. Well, that's Sam for you. I think it probably was a perfect gift. | |

| Lovely. I can just see them out there as dawn burns of the morning mists and kisses the world with colour. I like the way Pippin sits up all night in frenetic excitement eating jam. And his technique for rousing Merry is the best. Author Reply: Oh, how nice! I wish I'd thought of that phrase! A Pippin full of apple pie, jam and honey is a Pippin to be reckoned with, LOL! Well, I'm thinking it must be a usual method for the cousins--remember how Frodo rolls Pip out of his blanket in "Three's Company"? | |

| Ah--a lovely start to a new day after a back-breaking one the day before. Thanks, Dreamflower, for the description of the dawning seen through the eyes of some who probably preferred to sleep through such quite often. Author Reply: I figure probably only Sam sees them very often, although my young Pip is a bit of a morning person. I'm not sure how often he'd be up *that* early, though, LOL! | |
