| Sorry it took me long to review, but I've been away since last Sunday and I'm far behind in my reading in my reviewing..:-) I really like your warped sense of humour FP, and daring to portray Elrond, pardon me, Celebrķan's wedding is a definite proof that you do have it. I was laughing from the very first line! Also, I liked the apparently tiniy bit of problem Elrond is facing. It must have been truly difficult for him in that situation. I liked uderstanding and emphatic Galadriel and now I'm wondering who's going to fill in the vacant. Ready to have more fun! | |

| Ooo. I come back from training to a whole new story! Cool. And this one looks to be hilarious. You are too right the weddings are better than circuses (sp?). I thought the conversation with Erestor and Glorfindel (pink wedding cloak and all) was absolutely a riot! I rolled all the way through it. And the conversation with Celebrian was very well done--quite sad but something that had to be on his mind. I am definitely looking forward to this one. I love a good wedding. ;-) | |

| My mother had a sewing business making weddding dresses and I met enough brides and bridesmaids and mothers of the bride to determine that I would elope. All the build up and decisions and so on was very funny. Elrond's problem, however, is very real and look forward to seeing what Galadriel proposes as a solution. | |

| Poor Elrond. He can face down a Dark Lord or two, but confront him with a damsel discussing wedding finery and he's in pieces. Not, of course, that Galadriel is just any damsel. Still he can console himself with the presence of Celebrian in his arms, which is probably compensation enough. Interesting the pink/blue thing. Somewhere I have a book that says that until the twentieth century pink was considered a much more macho strong colour more suited to boys, while blue was thought of as rather wishy-washy and more suitable for girls. How things change! I think Elrond and the male brigade might discover that there is another time when females take over the asylum. I believe the last few weeks before the arrival of a child can lead the men to go and hide in the stables, too. Most enjoyable. I wonder who will stand with Elrond - I'm looking forward to finding out. | |

| The timing of the arrival of this story cannot be more perfect. I have a family wedding coming up in three weeks (my husband's nephew) and can more than sympathize with what Elrond is going through. It seems like there is always someone (or someones) ready to hijack the entire event from the bride and groom. Poor Elrond. At least he should take comfort in the fact that Galadriel's choice of colour is blue, and not pink. A very entertaining chapter. It will be interesting to see if I will be seeing the same things in your future chapters as what I am seeing now with this family wedding. | |

| I laughed through the beginning of this chapter where Elrond, Glorfindel and Erestor discussed the plight of elvish grooms. Erestor in pink? Oh my. Mirdan's muted sadness was touching, as were Elrond's feelings of abandonment. The way you wrote Celebrian she seemed just the sort of warmth he needed, but then as Jay pointed out, it gave a twinge to read her declare that when they were married he would never be alone again. | As someone whose son recently announced he is getting married in March, I read this with interest. Thank goodness my main responsibility appears to be to show up, wear what I'm told, and keep my mouth shut. I can do that! But I sympathize with Elrond. The marriage customes of LACE assume a much more stable world than the one he inhabits. You can see that even in the smith who made the rings. Luckily for Elrond, he and Celebrian love one another and that will outweigh everything you have planned for them. I think! | |

| I wasn't sure that I was going to like this as I tend to prefer fellowship stories but I am always intrigued by Elrond & you have me hooked! My heart goes out to Elrond - to stand alone without close family is lonely at best and knowing what happens to Celebrian as we do is so sad. More soon please! | |

| My, this brings back memories. The planning. The details. The careful courtesies so as not to upset anyone. I remember it all well. And as of next Tuesday, I will have been married for exactly 25 years. I feel for Elrond here. It's not just the petty details, it's the important things like who should stand by him - he's lost so many who are close, he's bound to think of them all. Elros, Gil-Galad, Maglor - all would have been good substitutes for Earendil. Particularly sad is Celebrķan's observation that they will soon be married, and then Elrond will not be alone again. That's yet another loss he'll have to face :( Good story so far. Jay | |
