I can well imagine the Rangers being wary of Bilbo, one of those peaceful and often naive hobbits. They have a lot to learn, hehehehe. And now they will have that little bundle of energy of a Took! I loved Saradoc's cameo appearance!

"I don’t like it when you’re sick, Frodo. You’re not supposed to ever be sick.” - dear Merry! I really enjoyed this chapter. I like your insights into the Rangers-- Aragorn's difference from his companions, their habit of cleaning up, their interactions with the hobbits and each other. It's intriguing, and fun!

Somehow I've fallen behind, once again. I missed the last chapter, with Frodo suffering the after effects of the poison. I'm glad to see that his suffering didn't last too long and that he's on the mend.

And now that Pippin is here, the gang is nearly all complete. I love seeing your young Frodo with his little cousins. :D

Hello Shirebound,

Very glad I found this page. What a delightful tale. I've enjoyed every chapter - very creative. There was a spot in chapter 8 or 9 that I particularly loved - but, of course, I can't get back to quote it.

Thank you for sharing!

Gasp...PIPPIN!!! Wee Pippin!! I do believe this story just crossed from fluff into unabashed adorableness!!! I can't wait to see Thalugron and Halbarad's reactions to wee Pippin and his Tookish accent. Hee!!

Loved Aragorn's meeting w/Saradoc. That was just so well done. Loved how Aragorn rightly guessed Saradoc was giving him the once over, then when Aragorn tried to buy the herbs he needed..."Your coin is no good here." Loved, loved that moment.

And the education of Rangers to trust the Shire continues. I can understand Halbarad and Thalugron's caution. Especially when it concerns Aragorn. They've spent their lives being hunted and mistrusted after all. Learning to trust and in turn be trusted is a hard thing to learn, but it's a worthwhile lesson in the end.

Also really liked the way you had Aragorn handle Halbarad's actions. The fact he ended up breaking his ankle and the pain that comes w/an injury like that, more than a worthy lesson on what can happen when you decided to go AWOL.

What a wonderful lovely chapter. Now hurry up and show us what can happen when a wee little Took get added into the mix. :oD

Ah, dear--Pippin is definitely nice and appropriate, if we can't get Gandalf, of course.

Wonderful chapter.

That's okay about skipping paper training--we at least haven't had too many try to tell us about potty training hobbits! (Thank heavens!)

This is great! And now Pippin has come to join in on the fun too! :D I`m so glad Frodo is better.

I always pictured Merry as good at drawing and I`m sure the Ranger will be happy to recieve a pair of crutches with drawvings from the hobbit lad as a happier memory of these days than the one he has from his injury and illness. :) And then there of course is the joy of just meeting the hobbits...
