| I loved the desciptions of the beautiful clothes, Aragorn admitting that the ring tempted him and you insight into Boromir's death which was very moving. Thank you so much for your comments and kind review. I think be both see Aragorn in a similiar light and I admit when I wrote todays chapter, I found myself wondering what Your Aragorn would do ! Author Reply: Probably much as yours did, although I think he'd be less likely to be overmodest, and more knowledgable about women's issues, particularly childbirth. But then, my Aragorn oversaw the birth of his first child (and probably the second one as well), and was discussing the need for proper hygeine to maintain the health of both mother and child. Thank you for appreciating the discussion of Boromir's death. Boromir did realize that a madness had overtaken him and that the Ring had been working on him, and called out for Frodo's forgiveness. I think he felt terribly guilty; but there was no question his actions finally sparked Frodo to do what he'd recognized from Lorien on he needed to do--leave the rest for their own safety. | |

| what a lovely chapter, everyone gets to dress up and go to a party, too bad it is so hot out, but one has to expect that in the south. Glad to see that the Farozi remembered about the duck hunting, very interesting about his brother being poisoned. Also very glad to see that Benai has Aragorn's old sword, till he gets one of his own, plus he gets to carry the red bag. Author Reply: Yes, it is a great honor for Benai, a fact he appreciates. Unfortunately, I suspect even on the hunt Aragorn's not going to get as much experience with throwing sticks as he'd wish. | An interesting discussion about the temptations by the One Ring. The Farozi can be proud they are so open with him - I suppose it is still not always easy for them to talk about some parts of the Quest and the War of the Ring. I am sorry to hear An'Ma'osiri was poisoned. I loved him. But somehow ... why have I the bad feeling this as yet unnamed former agent of Mordor and Sherfiramun are not only in league but this duck hunt will be disturbed again? The opportunity to try to assassinate Aragorn or something like this is too obvious. And I wonder if the murderer of Ma'osiri could be the guard officer from the docks which Aragorn met at the end of his first visit? Author Reply: Shall we see what plays out? I, too, fear the hunt won't be all that peaceful--not this time, at least. Wonderful thoughts on what might be ready to happen. | |

| Ah ha! So, perhaps another "lesser ring" is hanging around? As always I love this story--every time you bring out more details of the Quest to those who did not know, you bring more insight into them in the way they take their knowledge. I liked the way you described Boromir's fall into the Ring's trap. I, too, believe he was able to break away from its influence as Frodo fled, proving that its hold on him was tenuous. And a duck hunt will be interesting, as the last time you never did get to describe those throwing sticks. Author Reply: You think another one might be in play, do you? Interesting guess. As to whether or not Aragorn gets the chance to learn properly to use throwing sticks this time either--that is yet to be revealed. | |
