ROFL! This had *me* feeling slightly intoxicated! Full of a Took indeed! I can just imagine Pippin's poor ickle horrified face. Y'know, I was expecting Merry to end it with something along the lines of "I'm kidding" *g* which would serve Pip right. Though the line of "Congratulations on your impending nuptials." is just as brilliant. Let this be a lesson to all ye heavy-drinkers out there! Author Reply: LOL! It really does seem as if it ought to be an enormous joke, but it's funnier if it's not.

Intriguing. I love the start to the story. Merry and Pippin are good characterizations. I can see Merry sniggering at his cousin's plight. Can't wait to see who Pippin proposed to! Author Reply: I bet Pippin can't wait to see who the lucky bride is, as well!

Well, well... the Gaffer's homebrew is a dangerous stuff! Not so long ago someone asked me, if I ever had the experience to wake up not knowing what happend the day before and not knowing the bed I lay in. Fortunately, that has never happened to me so far ;-) Seems as if Pippin was not so lucky. Which girl did he invite, I wonder? Maybe Diamond? That would be the beginning of a wonderful time. Otherwise he should just stay in safe distance of the ale barrel :) Your Merry is wonderful! He seemingly enjoys the situation, but is also helping Pippin as much as he can. Author Reply: Poor Pippin; I think he might swear off the homebrew, or at least just use it for polishing silver, like Merry does, after this.

A wonderful description of a wonderful situation that Pippin has put himself into! Hilarious. Author Reply: We are our own worst enemies sometimes, and when you take natural exhuberance and mix it with the Gaffer's homebrew, well...
