It must be difficult to stay in safety while you are worried sick about your people in general and family in particular. I like the messages brought by the gulls - to whom all men look alike. (Reciprocated, chaps!) And Gondor has come. I hope Bucca gets to go home soon. Author Reply: Bucca gets to go home pretty soon! After all, Shire-folk went to the battle that looms ahead, and who better to rally his people and gather a troop of archers?

Aha--it is about time! I so have looked forward to seeing this updated. And so glad to see Bucca there as witness. Hope he gets to go back home soon. And I see where perhaps Sam learned the trick of listening near windows.... Author Reply: Why is it so difficult to recreate something that was almost finished and then lost? You'd think it would be a hop, skip, and a jump. Perfectionism can be such a bother, sometimes. But there is finally another update, and now that the puzzle of the names for the princes of Rhovanion has been solved (more or less) I hope the work will go forward.

Hey, cool, an update to this one. I'll be glad for bucca when he gets to go home. I want him to find everyone and everyone be okay. Unfortunately, my understanding of Shire history is a little vague at some points, so I don't remember how life was for them just after the king's demise. Maybe there is little information. Of course, that's why we have your story; to fill in the gaps the good Professor did not.:) Thanks. Connie B. Author Reply: Thanks! Updates have been few and far between, I'm afraid. It has been like pulling teeth to try to recreate this one, and fitting names to the princes of Rhovanion, which hadn't been done in the first draft, was a real "bear". I certainly hope I'm doing the Professor's work justice with this gap-filler. Whew.
